Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
The sp movement is rather strange. It looks as if the company itself massaged the sp down in order to be able to buy the shares on the cheap. It wouldn't be a bad strategy and we would also benefit in the medium term. However, all depends on the results.By the way last year they issued a trading statement.Hopefully we'll get some information soon
They are recruiting again. Is this a positive sign or do they just replace people who have left the company.Anyway if they were on the verge of losing big contracts they would probably not hire anybody.
glad you're back. How do you see business? The sp is very disappointing and moxley's comments aren't very reassuring either.
DO their competitors really pay better wages and offer better working conditions? How many crap buses did they buy and on which routes do they operate them.Your insight is most helpful albeit very discouraging because you don't see any pie in the sky.Can their larger American business possibly save them?
Im as disappointed as our whole community but I've topped up today because operational results are not the same as financial results however important they are when it comes to the ability of the management team to run the company on a day to day basis.I'm convinced that the financial results will be much better thanks to the devaluation of the pound and lower financing costs.Management has also put a lot of effort into modernizing thei buses and with an apt hedging policy they will be able to benefit from rising oilprices.
personally I feel that bluesky is right.YET there are some serious weaknesses as Moxley rightly pointed out,i.e Pullman.IF the can't replace the 2 contracts that will be terminated in April by similarlay sized profitable contracts, Pullman will be overstaffed. What speaks in favor of the company is its ridiculously low market cap.WRM with 160 staff is worth 60m, win with 15000 employees is worth 200m.The debt levels have dramatically reduced but the sp remains in the doldrums.I hope they'll resume divi payments which would be a very positive signal
for the time being all the optimism has evaporated.what will the trading statement which they usually issue at the beginning of February bring?
After all people are the most important assets of acompany.T thought that they had upgraded their it technology.I remember they had envisaged to spend 40m on it which was curtailed by Eric Born after he had sold of the European business.
thanks a lot for this piece of information.Unfortenately the company seems to be in crisis mode operationally.I hope that the sale if wmr will bring some relief
unbelievable- any explanation?
the sp hardly moves.I would be very grateful to you for some information.HOw do you assess the present situation given the difficulties in the construction sector and at pullman.I would greatly value any other contributor's opinion, too.
Investec has raised its price target to 280!!!
right as ever.I hope you'll continue to update us.Is the construction arm of the business still languishing?
read the other day the Barclay report on the logistics sector and they point out that the sector is rife for consolidation. In fact, internationally some very big takeovers have already taken place and the acqirers paid very high prices (jacobs,DVS,panalpina).the maket capitalisation is still very low and Ifeel that wincanton could be an interesting target for kühne&nagel,Dachser ,PAnanalpina among others
they had announced they would publish their results today.what's the matter
the guardian, october 2nd," a big pick-up in house building helped the uk construction sector enjoy its fastest growth for 7 months"-it's really surprising that win doesn't benefit from this upswing
the latest figures for the construction sector (SEPT) are very positive .I hope that win will benefit from this upswing in due time
despite the problems win currently faces the results on 3nov can be quite good because zhe onerous leases which have cost the company a lot in the past (L12-14 m) have been mostly terminated and the losses which are to be expected at pullman have been provisioned though they may be greater than originally thought (Moxley). The forward looking statement may be a bit disappointing but fundamentally win is ridiculously cheap in commparison with other logistics companies which were taken over recently
problems in the construction sector, too? I thought this was the most profitable part of the whole business.
you have always been the best informed an most reliable contributer to these blogs, I hope, however you'll be provedwrong this time. where did you get your information from?
