The PGM figures are incorrect in that blog. Page 22 of the annual report details. Cost per oz including Chrome credit - $508. Add back the chrome credit of $277/oz gives a true cost of $785/oz with revenue per oz of $1,262 giving a pure PGM operating profit of $477/oz which without anything changing would give a 2024 operating profit of $20 million. With additional chrome contracts and the ability to process the PGMs flowing from them this can only increase.

LME WEEK – Copper is top bet for base metals in 2024 at LME Seminar 09 Oct 2023

LONDON, Oct 9 (Reuters) – Copper is overwhelmingly the top bet for base metals next year, attendees at a London Metal Exchange (LME) event said on Monday.

Copper got 53% of votes in an informal poll at the LME Seminar on which base metal is likely to have most upside in 2024, after a series of analysts presented their cases for each of the six base metals traded on the LME plus steel. Tin same in second at 23%, with others ranging between 4-9%.

Analyst Max Layton of Citibank said he was moderately bearish for the near-term outlook for copper, but once macro-economic growth concerns faded, prices were likely to spike. The LME copper price could jump to $12,000 to $15,000 a metric ton in 2025, he said from around $8,100 on Monday, fuelled by surging demand for the energy transition that was not likely to be met by mine output expansions.

BEIJING, Oct 9 (Reuters) – Prices of copper opened higher on Monday after a weekly decline, as resilient demand in top consumer China lent some support, but worries over more interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve weighed on sentiment.

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.8% at $8,110 per metric ton by 0144 GMT after losing 2.7% in the prior week. China's markets reopened after a week-long public holiday on Monday. The most-traded November copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange added 0.2% to 67,360 yuan ($9,229.29) per ton.

Demand for copper and aluminium in China has been surprisingly robust despite the country's property sector crisis, driven by orders from the home appliance, electric vehicle, solar and wind sectors.

The dollar is riding high HDs so owning anything dollar denominated is more expensive if you have to buy dollars to get it. Also, algo trading of commodities makes up the mahjority of the price action nowadays, the "black-box" funds are configured to react to momentum and technical triggers which just amplify price movements which is good for the traders but create much greater price volatility for producers. The volatility is such that IG will not open new spreadbet positions in Pt, which I used to trade, and this has been the case for many months now.

I would venture Slater's motive was more to signal his committment to his investment and the health of the company than to materially increase his position. Funds have to balance their portfolios and he would be seen as reckless to have too great a position but adding like this still sends a very effective message to the investment communiyt.

Yes, and there was no indication other than BT's rumours that there might be a placing anyway. Leon already said expansion would be from asset based finance.

I'm sorry but if anyone is "wounded" by words on a bulletin board and suicidal, based upon norms here and on hundreds of other sites I have to question whether they should be online. The answer, if value is realised from the company, is for SN/the company to sue ZM for the value of his holding for the daamage done to the company and its shareholders.
