Hello mate, thanks for the reply. If you look back through quarterly reports they normally include a tax payment every other quarter....and one was due this quarter. I agree on how cheap this is. I will find out about the tax before looking to reinvest here as it will be a large amount given the positive cash build / bottom line profit in the last two quarters.....

Any ideas why there is no debit for tax? Was fully expecting a tax bill of circa $3 million to be paid?

Can't see it dropping far considering current market cap is covered by BNC. Basically no value is associated with asa from Freda at the moment, or copper jv, or ZC in DRC, or diamonds in SA or agricultural business... Remember. Nav without smelter and ZC 3m oz gold asset is £84 million compared to current MC. Looks to me like the end of the world is already priced in!

Have you asked the company about this or are you one of those poisonous little creatuses trying to spread discontent to get a cheap entry? You are quoting a newspaper article.....mpinga was in is discussions with parties before the Chinese took over ( thank god) however nothing was ever signed....

This is what this is all about. Asa will need to relinquish a % of Freda at some point in the future...however the new indigenisation policy is shady at best and resembles an asset grab by those desperate to get a stake in a profitable gold mine.....law on this issue is still unfinished hence asa ongoing discussion with the government re best way forward. I really don't think this is a big issue re the asa group and you have to ask yourself why invest much capital into a mine which they feel may be on soft ground when they could invest capital in other areas of the group. This is simply a inconvenience
