A 9km strike with co products. San Domingo could be a very large hard rock mine with low OPEX compared to WA miners. The whole point of the first round of drilling is to get an idea of the size of the deposit. If it is inconclusive, especially regarding the feeder system then that is a problem. I hope not!
OPEX out of control for Lionstown. This problem of skills shortages will affect all of the oz miners and make their DFS wrong, in a big way. https://www.kalminer.com.au/news/regional/kathleen-valley-lithium-project-cost-escalates-significantly-to-895-million-c-9506121
We just need to wait, maybe 3-4 weeks still until we get the RNS. It looks like the first drilling campaign results though have confirmed the value in a second round of drilling. We might get news on the feeder system, let us see. The whole point of this drill campaign is to prove the feeder system theory so i will be disappointed if it is not clearly addressed in the RNS.
A few important points here:
1) Not all Lithium mines will produce battery grade LCE.
2) Not all lithium mines will come online and if they do, will be later than expected.
3) The spodumene price and USD strength has not been reflected in the current SP at all. When the investor community realise this is Hard Rock play with a viable economic deposit in the USA then the SP will rerate quickly.
4) Any PFS and DFS will reflect the lower OPEX and carbon footprint of the spodumene compared to Westerna Australia and African spodumene.
5) More likely to get funding from the US Government.
6) Brines, Oil Brines (Texas and Pensylvannia) and the Clay will likely be divested, including Basin IMO leaving BHL with just San Domingo.
10 bag is easy even, after dilution. I am critical of no JORC from the first round of quite sizeable drilling at San Domingo however.
They will need cash arrangement toward the end of the year. The issue is how they do it. They do not need to dilute. An offtake for their Hard Rock even 5-6 years away from production is possible coupled with a small equity investment. This would lead the way to would resolve any cash issues moving forward and avoid/reduce potential dilution. Alas, we do not have an MRE for San Dom, so we are being taken down a unnecsessary risky path.
