The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
If the last one is finished and mine was the latest date does that make me the winner? ;-)
Are you sure? I would trust anything on Wikipedia to be necessarily true.
Missed the evening "Relaxed drinks reception with a ‘talk to me because…’ twist to encourage contacts and networking".
With LKAB and possibly MI there, there could be some very interesting discussions.
...as is Kurt!
Some really interesting topics there. Before KB there a presentation called 'How to attract investors' haha! Same time as KB LKAB are presenting about the future of Kiruna, and there are lots of presentations in the afternoon about graphite and battery technology, including graphite opportunities in Norbotten...I think we'll stick to Finland!
Somebody on Avanza posted this link to a presentation early last year by Kurt, I don't think I've seen it before. Interesting point he makes about LKAB which is all the more relevant now. When talking about a JV he says "LKAB is the natural owner of Kallak". If they pay for it of course!

I think the jerky price movement is just us periodically aligning with Sweden. Disappointing reaction over there, barely any movement today. I'm disappointed too, and expect the Greens to be back in their old seats. However I expect better from Damberg et al this time, I think at lot of their inertia before was down to having one eye on the upcoming election and not wanting to alienate any of the voters. Fingers crossed.
If we are back with a SD/MP government what's in it for the Centre Party and the Liberals? Surely they have influence so why not offices? Why would they not form part of the Government rather than the Greens? If they just back a coalition that doesn't represent their viewpoint at all they will be punished by voters in future, so for what?
fwiw I think ADF has valid input here, even though some of you don't like his perceived negativity.
Tintin - I think 'Still crazy after all these years' is far more appropriate!
I have more confidence in the Swedish Government issue being resolved than Brexit that's for sure!
3p is 25% less than 4p so you were not even close. Unless you mean that 3.99p is the same as 3p in which case you need to be more accurate!
So he's not a decision maker, but he does have influence, otherwise he would not be quoted in articles on the matter.
Wrong - he's a local councillor, an influencer.
I've always said a JV/takeover involving LKAB was always the most likely scenario. To me the ducks are finally lining up. LKAB are so desperate that they are even considering foreign production but 'have never considered Kallak'. Yeah right.

Sorry, I've got far too many already! With the rest of the market tanking I'm keeping my powder dry for hopefully some sensible bargains. Close to retirement now and I need to be more careful. Still optimistic though and willing to wait. I think an eventual LKAB buyout/JV is nailed on but at what price?
Parallels with granting a mining concession anyone?
One of the most optimistic things I can say after waiting for so long is that we are not being singled out. It's just the way things are over there.
Education Minister Gustav Fridolin says it is a difficult process in which it is.
- This is a difficult process, it would have been easy we would have been ready a long time ago. Now the parties meet at the political center and we are standing far apart, so it's no wonder it will take a while.
He says that C and L's list of requirements contains points that are difficult for the Environmental Party to accept - but the parties now have to listen to each other in order to get along.
Let's hope Centre and Liberals hold their ground, if mining is one of the contentious issues.
SL, yes, you obviously have more faith in our Government than I do. Let's wait and see.
Hey Manro how's MATD going? ;-)
Don't bother replying, I can't see it!
SL, I thought so too once.
I think people are right to be wary of needing to be reliant on Government. Once politics gets in the way anything can happen. I speak from bitter experience, having invested in a Swedish mineral proposition about 8 years ago (BEM if anybody is interested). It is quite possibly the biggest unbroken iron ore prospect in Europe, in a country that is allegedly one of the safest and pro mining countries in the world. BEM have invested over £7m in proving up the site, which would provide a massive boost to the Northern Sweden economy and huge tax benefits to the Swedish economy (sound familiar?). No brainer right? We have now been waiting well over SIX YEARS for the Government to grant the exploitation concession. Hell there isn't even a Swedish Government to take to court any more!
Having said that I am heavily invested here and believe that ST2 guarantees and funding will eventually come through, though I'm not sure it will appear 'on time' and there's a possibility that some people will get itchy feet. I think the biggest risk to the investment here is time, and I don't just mean funding delays but also construction delays. The scope of the project is massive and it would be incredible if it was delivered from here on time and on budget. We've already seen evidence of what can change. I'm in here for the duration though.
