And I don't think it will be as messy as all these doomsters seem to think. Bit like referendum result, Armageddon for a couple of hours then back to normal.

"Voters elect individual members of parliament, who owe their constituents their best judgment about how to negotiate the predicaments of politics. MPs are not required to do what they are told by an alleged popular will – a system much favored by despots and demagogues. " More or less sums up MPs. Canvas for votes with promises they have no intention of keeping.
Thanks for that confirmation, beginning to think i was dreaming. No more talk of Guinness or dreams of Southern Ireland leaving EU, promise. ......said with crossed fingers he he

BB Luddite no, just averse to nuclear and it's possible implications. Lets use modern technology to harness tidal power. wind, solar, to name a few. These are not finite.
BB I beg to differ I have 5 X 4KW Solar PV Systems and two of my children have 1 4KW Solar PV System each. Have had them since 2013. Without wishing to tempt fate, they have not had any maintenance of any description during this period and are working as well now as when they were fitted. One of the best investments I have made. Unfortunately incentives are not around now, government would rather give our money to foreign companies.
Theresa May gave the go-ahead to the £18bn Hinkley Point power plant that could spiral as high as £37 bllion. George Osborne and energy secretary Amber Rudd on a trade mission. In 2013 EDF won the contract to build the first of Britain’s new nuclear power stations. The most expensive white elephant in British history.’ A LEGACY THAT WILL HANG ROUND OUR NECKS FOR GENERATIONS TO COME what were we thinking?
BB What we need is the return of decent incentives for solar panels, installed by British companies/workers. solar farms with sheep grazing beneath. Definitely not nuclear power. Poker What a sensible post, long time since we had one of those.
