I am in this after almost loosing everyting on COPL (Canadian Overseas Petroleum). Bulls on that stock also had the same arguments i.e. JV taking long can only be a good thing but look what happened there. We clearly all want partners to bring these projects to life but in my opinion sooner the better. We are already approaching mid April. Not much time left if funds are needed by June. They should be closing the deals fast.
have you guys contacted HSBC re the 'Delisting by Canadian Overseas Petroleum Limited' letter? I received one as well. The letter rightly states that the company is proposing to cancel the admission of its common shares to trading on the Official List with effect from 21 April 2021.
gives three options:
1- transfer shares to another provider
2- sell shares prior to last dealing date of 16 April 2021
3- do nothing and HSBC will attempt to sell on 16 April 2021 on our behalf and credit the proceeds to ISA cash/settlement account.
As we can't trade COPL I can't see how me or the bank will be able to transfer or sell them on or prior to 16 April!!
If and when the enlarged company starts trading again will they use COPL or will they have to change the ticker as well? I suspect we will get a letter at some stage saying that we are allocated equivalent number of shares in the new company when they do start trading.
So the only thing that we can do is do nothing! am i missing something?
I am invested here and enjoy reading informative posts but I am a bit concerned about that rumour which was cirulated earlier which was then copied and pasted from this bulletin board on to twitter creating more traction. It creates false expectations and if they don't materialise it may have a negative impact on the sp. I am sure there are rules, laws and regulations against spreading rumors or what might later appear as false/misleading information on public bulletin boards. The fundamentals of this company and the prospects should be more than enough to provide plenty to go on.
