I was telling bout this on a post here a few days ago. BP trading desk is exceptionally clever during oil price high volatility times. I think this shall continue well beyond Q1 causing a re rating of the stock as recent weeks upward trend leaves room for further gains

Yes price of oil is going down today BUT looking at the medium term picture there is to consider the dramatic earnings upgrade in the first quarter and beyond. There is also to expect a huge boost from the trading desk who have a very good track record in times of high volatile of oil price. I suspect we should see the price back in the 600 not long far ahead

Yes Harmonica , I meant a special dividend. Eni announced extra dividend today. I agree the right focus should be as it is on reducing debt however if this spike on oil price continue until June I would not rule out a surprise on the dividend front as well. The amount of cash the trading desk is accumulating must be huge. Last but bit least congrats on the chosen nick , it is one of the most iconic characters in cinema history in my favourite movie of all time.

I see in this board like in many others lots of folks stating to sell with the idea of buying back and so i.e. timing the market. Good luck with that. Lots of deluded traders in my book. Learn to invest as you will never be able to time the market right . Nobody has ever been able to do it as it is impossible as stats show . No matter how hard you try, investing is something different , means having a medium long term strategy and stick to it despite fluctuations , means to have a method , discipline and patience

Recent weakness is certainly not due to RBC doendgrade they have no power to move anything in the mkt. Recent weakness is due to a bit of turmoil happening on French and Dutch debt related to their political crisis .Watch the bond mkt. Aviva is not doing much better is it? Hold and buy opportunity on any further weakness below 240 in my opinion
