It's not really new technology, is it? They've been around for ages, and many larger companies have looked at commercialising them, but have all come up against the same problem, charge degradation, and fundamental inefficiencies. The hope was that the company would be able to create something that circumvents this particular issue, now it's got a name, and it's...........Alkamem.......except the company isn't using it, because its not been developed yet, and are the company is using proprietary bought in tech. So, it's not new tech, it's a kit of parts that's failing to deliver on the promises made, and as a result, the company is reliant on the power of the Greenwash to keep the PR on this moribund non company on the go.
Question for you all. Ho0w many amazing towers of power make up the consignment going to Speedy? Divide the JV investment by the number of units, and you get the cost per unit....compare and contrast this with a good old diesel genset, sit back and panic.....
Hasn’t anyone sussed it yet? All this company does is act as an accomplice for anyone who wants to do a bit of greenwashing.
“Ok, chaps, we need to do a bit of greenwashing to make it look like we’re into all this eco twaddle, any ideas? Well, yes sir, we could always take one of those AFC amazing towers of power on loan and pretend to be trialling it, it won’t cost anything because they will be so desperate to show that someone might actually be interested in it that we can more or less have it for free….and we get free PR into the bargain because they will be dead keen to show the world that were involved….free greenwashing and free PR all in one hit”
No brainier really….
I'm not at all confident, simply because like everything this company does, anything pit into the public domain is so ambiguous that it can be interpreted exactly how you want, so if you are of a delusional mind, then you will read that all is good, but if you are of a more sceptical disposition, then there could be a completely different interpretation.
All I know is that the company needs to be seen to be selling product at a margin sufficient to make the thing a sustainable entity, and until I see hard evidence of actual commercial sales, then I will remain unconvinced that this is anything other than some well paying vanity project for certain individuals.
Construct
No need for a board vote, the answer is obvious! The Uber denialist rose tinted spec merchants will make sure that they massively outnumber anyone who may just possibly get the vibe that the Emperor is indeed butt naked
Point and counter point.
1. The world's most efficient 99.99% Hydrogen cracker technology , proven & in the process now of being Modulerised to replace the wolrds existing Dirty Diesal engine's. This Technology if Afc has a infinite number of other applications. This alone is going to bring in a massive increase in Revenues for Afc.
Not a product yet, though, is it? like so many other "next big things"
2. £1.4 million of deferred revenue from last year to be recognised this year end.
Do you actually know what deferred income is? It's money you've received for which the work hasn't been done. Do you not think that there will be a cost associated with recognising the £1.4M which may well be more than the £1.4M....This isn't a positive, but a negative.
3. Other Revenues increasing all the time.
Mostly grants, though, as opposed top actual trading income. More like a charity than a commercial operation.
4. Revenue from supplying the Hydrogen oroduced by our Cracker Technology supplying numerous & increasing customers every week.
The cracker isn't commercially viable yet (but that little fact never stops people waxing lyrical about the fuel cell that its/y viable either)
5. Contract with Tamgo yo supply construction equipment in Saudi Arabia & 16 other countries in the Middle East & North Africa ( This will be a massive revenue increase for Afc on its own. The NEOM project alone in Saudi is of a phenominal size.
It's not a contract for supply of anything, it's an agency agreement with no tie in.
6. Speedy Hire joint venture will also see a massive revenue increase from new & existing customers already Trialing our equipment Speedy Hire have already stated the intrest from their customers for Afc energys Equipment is huge.
But they would say that, wouldn't they, because they are trying to hire some of the units out to effect the greenwash. Let's not get carried away, how many units are / have been out on trial? not many, and what have we got so far? 800 hours lease....
7. ABB, another one of our long term partners covering EV chargers, shipping, data centres rtc will shortly be announcing an update on the next stage for orders etc.
50% discount anyone?
8. Acciona another important partner that's been successfully Trialing & ordering our Equipment!
Have they ordred though? they've had long enough to decide whether it's a goer or not
9. Numerous other customers & increasing genuine intrest.
50 or so qualified leads possibly?
Things are looking fantastic for the near future of AFC ENERGY & I'm sure everyone will be very pleased with further news released during 2024 & 2025.
Things are looking fantastic for AB's bank account, and I'm sure he will be very pleased during 24 & 25
Ah, the AFC cracker…..a welcome diversion from the core business of making a commercially viable fuel cell..here’s a revolutionary thought, how about, just for once, the company actually concentrates on actually delivering something that someone actually wants, rather than just coming up with wizard new ideas that simply soak up resource and do nothing other than aid this long running smoke and mirrors farce.
Noj.
I’m primarily talking about static generation as in a direct competitor to the amazing tower of power. Battery does have its place for smaller units, but for larger excavators etc. neither battery or fuel cell is viable because of the workable hours required because of the capex. There is a clip out there somewhere, where Anthony Bamford analogises large plant and batteries to the Saturn 5 scenario, hence their research into H2 ICE technology.

Fuel cells and batteries simply don't work in the construction industry, hence JCB going down the route of H2 ICE. Agreed the storage of the fuel is more challenging than for standard diesel, but this is being overcome. However, when looked at in the context of static generation, it has many advantages over fuel cell (known technology, small footprint, higher charge density, no need to rely on battery buffer) which is why it's being investigated by a number of heavy plant companies.
Has anyone dipped a toe into the wonderful world of conspiracy theory?
The way it works is that someone wants to promote a particular agenda and sets about pulling together a whole series of pieces of micro information which in themselves are pretty meaningless, but when put together in a particularly skewed can be made to show whatever picture the promoter wishes to show.
The key to this is the ongoing mantra of "do the research....do the research.." where people are directed to "research" the particular agenda that has been set, in order to affirm what the promoter is saying. Along side this, an agenda is set where anyone expressing any kind of alternate view of this skewed agenda is vociferously shouted down as a heretic or someone in league with a higher authority that wishes to silence the "truth". The problem is that this "truth" is no such thing, just an agenda being promoted by someone who either has an agenda, or is simply an absolute loon.
Look at the methodology applied by a certain Uber Uber, and you will see that it's the same.....wise up folks, can't you see you're being played by the infamous McStock?
Garonne.
Ah, the old "ABB share gift" thing......you'll be getting into trouble with that one, we all know that the value AFC got out of changing the contractual terms far outweighs the possible cost to the shareholders (remember, it was the shareholders who paid for it by dilution).
Buenavista….ah, the old “you’re not invested” line…..so precisely what evidence do you have to back up that particular piece of twaddle? I’ll answer it for you, absolutely none, so get back in your box kiddo, if that’s the best you’ve got….
Just because someone has a different view to you doesn’t mean that they are wrong, or have any kind of agenda, it’s simply that they have a different view….JN’S view is that all will be good, given enough time, which he’s quite entitled to….others view is that given the company’s previous form, there is little hard evidence out these at present to support that view, and are therefore being more sceptical….at this precise moment in time, neither is right, and neither is wrong, so neither has the moral authority to unduly criticise the other’s stance….
I’ll let you all into a secret……IT WASNTT A 100KW UNIT!
Otherwise the company wouldn’t have had to do the discount deal with ABB…..you know, the one where they got shares for free and a discount on units they’re never going to buy….
Bumble……so which was it, an accusation of posts being deleted or a genuine mistake, you can’t have it both ways….if it was a genuine mistake, why make the snide comment about “mysteriously vanishing posts’ or whatever, as that statement wasn’t going to bring anything to the party….
