Wylie, thanks for the article. It is merely a proof of concept, and only going through the analytical validation as the moment. I have expressed my concern about this iAbra test in terms of its low specificity, when it was firstly rolled out in Heathrow. Unfortunately my opinion on this technology remains unchanged.
enteleon, the document was firstly mentioned by Chiron if I remembered correctly. GLA.
Hi entelon, not an expert myself, but could probably contribute from a different perspective:
If you read the Sage Consensus: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/914931/s0712-tfms-consensus-statement-sage.pdf
You can see two messages have been implied from the group: 1, the infectious level should pass a certain threshold to be tested, see Annex A on page 9. This also in a sense shows testing too early is as useless as testing too late (green zone in figure). 2, specificity is the key. Sensitivity can be comprised as long as it is acceptable. Reference could be found from Annex B on page 11. Hope this helps.
I couldn't feel more relax about my investment here, and congratulations to all who have faith in Avacta all along.
Thanks Chengdo, great find!
dsmith57, they were listed on Cytiva website last month. I was under the impression that Aptamer was the inferior version of Affimer, so probably less a concern. (sewage water testing was a precedence here) The 500 million from UK government is not a small amount, we will get our fair share in due time. There won't be a "test to rule them all" situation, different tests function for different purposes. GLA
Agreed Rich, a significant step forward for Avacta. Share price never go straight lines, you never know ex ante just like Schrodinger's cat.
Thanks Gazala, enjoyed your post, great sense of humor
Thanks Chengdo for voicing rational remarks.
travel_light, the reply was a mere observation of RD's behavior on seperate occasions. I am confused why you are so triggered here? My stand and attitude towards this board have been and will be objective. We should evaluate individuals based on our own judgement. Hope you will calm down and good luck to you.
travel_light, the idiots have been called idiots, and failed to admit it.
RD, please stay out my post as your attitude sickens me!
Please like if you share similar thoughts. Considering the contribution Ophidian has put into this board, I think we should back him up. On the grand scheme of things, he has shown great knowledge on this although there might be some minor delays in his timeline drawn for Avacta. I do believe Avacta has made a step forward today and we would like to share this with Ophidian. Hope Ophidian you could return. And this is my voice backing you up.
Cheers Jim and Chengdo.
High specificity gives fewer false positives, high sensitivity gives fewer false negatives.

sharehunter3, I have researched a bit on the I-Abra machine learning holographic microscope testing (used in Heathrow trial), and IMHO this test relies on the physical attributes of the virus partials, rather than chemical/biological traits of virus (antibody, RNA/DNA etc). This is probably why it only takes seconds to analyse. Similarly to the breath tests, they will face the specificity issue, as we all know the common cronovirus share similar size/appearance.
"Healthy back test of old resistance line - now is maybe the last time to buy low as I'm expecting a gradual rise now above 200p again in anticipation of imminent news on multiple fronts. Test Test Test (Antigens !!)"
Cheers sharehunter3, Rich. Wish you and your family safe during this difficult times. Without THE news next week, share price will be very likely punished, but all will be irrelevant if we look at the bigger picture. GLA.
It is disappointing to see the general quality of the posts deteriorating over the months. I remember back in March and April when there were a lot of informative posters and sadly many have disappeared. There are too many trolls on this board and I wont call names as it is not par of my nature, but you know who have cluttered the board these few months. The purpose of the board in my opinion should be a good source for information and balanced discussion rather than personal attacks. We have invested in Avacta with a good and firm belief, and no ramping or deramping could easily change that. GLA.
Apologize for that. Johnht, sorry misspelled your name.
