One thing to consider. The RNS has stated that the company will look to return capital to shareholders. Ie they don’t need to full settlement to operationalise their own plans.

This means that any additional award would have just either sat on the balance sheet or been returned to the shareholders.

As a shareholder that would have been delightful but if you are running the business - are you going to take a deal that allows you to immediately operationalise (and unblock a lot of your current pipeline that’s in limbo)? Or take a deal that removes any uncertainty and enables you move the business forward immediately.

Yes, BT’s language was often Churchillian in nature and pointed to a much bigger pot of gold at the end of the (immediate) rainbow. But the more I consider the actions, the more I understand the decision process. I’m hanging about.

We need to hear from the company, Brian and see what the next couple of RNS statements say before casting BT as the Devil Incarnate. Those who can’t immediately order their Porches (or buy that dive nightclub in Runcorn :-) ie me!) need to relax a little.

Henry - I hear you. But I’m also an advocate of understanding all sides to a story. Not one of us knows what has happened behind closed doors and why the decision was made. I’ll reserve judgement until BT is questioned and shares his and Nanoco’s story.

This was the collation of positions that Botbot pulled together prior to the settlement announcement. This may well have changed between then and now but ultimately it will be those with an average at the higher end that will be smarting the most. Going to court would have left us in a position of limbo for some time. Personally, still being a significant amount up on my investement still, in a position where the organic business can now move forward with a strong capital base and being prepared to wait a year for my dividend, doesn’t feel like the worst place to be now that the dust has settled (albeit, I was pretty glum yesterday morning like the rest of us!!

You’ll see in December before the settlement announcement that I declared my position (something that you never do) as holding 119k shares at an average of 19p. So at this moment in time my investment is 42% up and I’m very optimistic that this will lead to growth in the organic business given the firm footing that the company now has.

In addition, the RNS has clearly stated that there is a “firm intention to deliver a material return of capital to shareholders.” So I will be looking forward to the details of the dividend to be expected.

All the while, you love affair stock, TLY, has dropped 44% in the last 6 months.

The deflation you feel daily must drive you to make the posts that you do.
