It seems the polish president vetoed two overregulated bills for applications for MICA licence and a new slimmed down easier application bill has been put forward in the polish parliament to be voted on soon.
The new expert-drafted bill, led by Prof. Krzysztof Piech, is much slimmer — it goes for a clean “EU+0” approach, just implementing MiCA without the heavy extra Polish rules from the old government versions.
That means lower compliance costs, fairer fees for crypto firms, and less power given to KNF. The previous bills were 60 pages of overregulation — this one’s designed to avoid killing the local crypto business.
For GST, that would cut the burden and make approval more realistic within the tight timeline. It’s still in public consultation though, not law yet.
