1oz of gold was around $100 in 1973. Today you'd need just over $600 to buy what you could with $100 in 1973. Gold has out performed inflation over the period with gold price now above $1,800. So while the investment would now be worth 18 x more dollars, in terms of real value the investment has only trebled.
RSJAY. That's news from 4 years ago.
Morning. Have had this on my watch list for ages, decided to jump in. Bought 10m on Thursday. Shows as a sell for some reason.
Nookie, don't spend it all at once.
This is AIM - it happens.
Chuckled to myself when I read this:

I have been chasing Barclays the last 6 months on the sale of my Calidus shares. A few weeks ago they told me the hold up was waiting for confirmation of the share price. Seems they didn't understand how a consolidation works!
Ramirez. LOL :D
Lairyliam it's quite normal to do top slice to take profit and try and buy back in lower when the price dips. You can get caught out though

tq. what makes you feel that?
Master Oats - I can't comment on the intraday 80+ highs, but if I recall correctly in 2017 when it was closing in the 40's, the MCAP was around 750m.
You're right Trucky.
Yuri, you're quite entitled to have an opinion, but when the very first statement which you use to support your view is not true, your opinion carries little weight.
I happen to know a bit about solg as it was the first aim stock I invested in 4 years ago before I found this.
They are an explorer.
'SolGold is a leading exploration company focussed on the discovery and definition of world-class copper-gold deposits'
Having experienced first hand what can happen with these type of stocks, (I bought solg at 4p and saw it rise to 40+p), I know what I'm holding here.
I didn't chance it and get lucky with solg, I researched and followed the company for 6 months before investing. I then sought to find similar companies that present the same or a better opportunity. This company is one of those. I've made 40 times on my original investment, and I'm still holding and buying more. I will be adding this week.
If this isn't for you, that's fine, bye bye, and good luck with whatever else you are already or decide to invest in.
TomE - what's great is that there's still good upside potential from here. I first bought in Sep 2016 the price 0.001965. Needless to say I'm over the moon with the current price, but have resisted temptation to take profit and instead have only bought more whenever I've been able to. ATB
Not exactly selling. Listing it makes it available to buy if someone wanted to. Not sure the debt will be particularly attractive to Joe Public investor.
Auto correct doesn't like conforming.
Conform not confirm.
I don't think it's a case of wanting to confirm to lockdown, it's more a case of being able to, or indeed if the lockdown will actually be of benefit. You can't just 'lock down' when you live hand to mouth.
In many African countries so many people live in abject poverty and so close to the edge, (mal nourished almost starving) it's quite likely that the adverse effects of lockdown will cause more deaths rather than save lives.
Smoky, this company in particular AP is notorious for issuing statements with dates and timescales and massively failing on them, so shortly means nothing.
What you have to look at is the background and facts to judge when realistically signing might happen.
Fair enough in this case the timeline has already been overrun drastically. (By 6 months) so we should be very close, but clearly it all rests on Zim Gov and the coronavirus situation. I'm sure it will happen. When / how soon, is another matter.
