Playing the gods... the reality is centrica hold all the cards, they have put provisions in place for the most vulnerable.
Ultimately the engineers are striking when many are begging to jst keep their job. That's why the press is hardly even running the story

Their money is protected with sharesaves. They pay in for x amount of years which they can cancel at any point. When they reach the end of the agreed term they can take the cash they put in or buy the shares at the agreed price...if they buy the shares then the shares lose value that's tough luck just like for anyone who invests in shares.... PS the share price agreed is 20% less than market value price at the start of the sharesave
