The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
No DB - You Buy them to Sell them at a higher price - trading!
Virtually no AIM shares are an investment, the rest are just cash generators for their boards whims and pleasure.
As long as you know this, there is no emotional attachment!
I bet the offer is so low because they've burnt far more cash on the divi and their wages than everyone thinks. Not worth hanging on for another 0.1 to 0.2p started my sell off yesterday. May keep a few mill for old times sake.
"Okay thank you as the RNS states today is the ex divident date but says you will be paid on the 14th ‘shareholders of record on the 2nd June’ which is tommorow"
You need to do a bit of reading about dividends and understand about settlement dates etc
Laughing my rear end off - they dreamt this up last November - explains why the SP never got above 2p in run up to Divi.
This should be illegal - no value at all for the AIM shell - RY has exceeded my expectation yet again, his ineptitude is magnificent !
ShadowLess, The 6 months started the day the sale completed 6th March - they have 3 months left - 6th September:-
"RNS Number : 0000S Amur Minerals Corporation 06 March 2023 AMUR MINERALS CORPORATION
Completion of disposal of Kun-Manie Project for US$35 million"
Most of the buys today will have been matched to those sells and so holding the SP back.
I guess they decided to take the cash and not worry about whether it's a capital payment or not. Especially if the sale is a CGT Loss as opposed to paying tax on a dividend (in their mind).
The SP should drop by circa 1.8p, needs to get a wiggle on up to circa 2.2p before then to leave the residual value of circa 0.4p. Starting to move a bit now and should get there over the next couple of days, great trading opportunity!
You could still buy at sub 1.8p last week, should be a good 10-20% in just a few days.
TDT : "I'd like to know what it is anybody thinks could have/should have been released in an RNS that wasn't?"
Well they could have let us know for certain if this is a capital return or not!
There's been many times RY and crew have been economical with the facts and in my view deliberately deceived shareholders for their own benefit. All the different rounds of death spiral funding, for a start, the slow release of different agency approvals needed. The public surprise at announcing something they obviously already knew a long time before releasing it. I can go on, there are many 10's of times in my view over the 14 years I've been trading AMC that investors have been conned by RY and the board. Even the gentle winks and smiles at investor meetings were all part of the game of extracting cash from investors. I suspect quite a few have died during this time period, I know of at least two.
All good for traders but a complete failure for anyone who 'invested'
I emailed RY many times in the early days (rjyoung@amurminerals.com) not one single reply or even an acknowledgement. This woke me up early on to what their game was and AMC should be traded not an investment. Couple this with the miniscule holding RY and the board have and I don't think they ever expected to sell this - not in RY's life time. Putin may have ironically done us a favour, AMC ultimately would be diluted into oblivion had it continued.
GWM: "That is a very very sensible way to go, when hmrc raise minor invertigation it may cost u a lot for proffessionall help. Would you consider posing here everyting you are submitting or using as backup ? or keeping in touch with me?
wtf hasnt amc clarified..."
Don't hold your breath on a decision! You don't need to declare either way until next tax year and even if they decide to investigate which is almost nil chance, that wouldn't be till a year or two from now. They have so little resources these days your divi would need to be in the 100's of K for them to even look at it.
AMC haven't clarified because they don't care about you or any other shareholders - never have!
The last two days conversation clearly shows most holders of AMC don't normally hold shares that pay dividends!
The RNS was as usual for AMC 'clear as mud' Loads of un necessary info and no clarity on whether the payment being a capital return. All very begrudging I guess as Robbing can see his gravy train pulling out of the station without him!
As far as getting paid goes, it's simple, unless you hold a paper certificate you don't need to do anything.
