Hello to all still kicking around the MARL Ghost ship. Have to say that it may have taken longer than anticipated however the rewards of those long long years in MARL are now paying dividends (not literally of course). I am so glad I left half my investment in here. Riding it all the way to HM PFS (and beyond!) Has anybody invested anywhere else? A number of ex-MARLers have popped up on BMN. Any other tips/hints greatly appreciatied. Take care all GT
Which is good news. Just heard from my broker (Alliance Trust) that my money and shares have arrived bit wont be credited to me for a couple of days! Still looks as though this is only going to grow from here (for the rest of the year at least). This will probably be my last post here. Good luck to all that are left D220, Lionel, SGD27 Spudulika, Terrafin Gixxer and Fulmer et al. If you find a Sandstorm forum hopefully see you over there as continuing to hold half my original MARL holding. (Will the last person to leave turn the lights off) :).
Of this board as long as it continues to discuss SSL shenanigans. Half my holding has gone to conversion. Once again sentiment has played it's part but the original offer was for £1.10p equivalent so that's what I am holding out for. At that point I will wish you all a bon voyage on your journey towards HM PFS for those that continue. It's been a rollercoaster ride gentlemen (and lady) and I for one have appreciated those who have posted and informed (and educated) and those who have entertained (Total Recall to name but 3) :) Adieu if we disappear. See some of you on the other side. GLA
Thanks Mr B Think I will follow Ludeck and sell prior to combination. Bit too much uncertainty at the moment and other fish to fry :) See you in July Hope Mrs B hasn't spent all the profit yet
When MARL (in £'s) are converted to SSL (in $) is a strong dollar good for stockholders on sale for us on the right side of the pond? And if it is (which is my uneducated guess) then won't there be an immediate currency transfer bonus for those who hold? My maths and financial acumen are staggeringly baaad! Any answer (as long as its correct of course) gratefully received. Many thanks
Well this really is the end of an era! Just want to say thanks Skibba for your input to the Board during the good times (of which there have been the odd one or two) but especially the bad! You helped me (amongst it seems others) to keep the faith and come through the bad old CDO days with a very decent profit (although like many I was hoping for more). You were always considered and straight. It's been an education and a pleasure. Yep Ludeck I am in the same quandary as you. I have a cheeky £1.05 sell order set although probably won't be achieved prior to vote in which case, SSL here we come!) :) GLA whatever your exit strategy is. And Bushy, set aside an evening in July sometime. The Blue Nun is on me.
My sell order of 98p has been triggered so my ISA holding is no more. Letting the rest go on to the vote and beyond. Like Lionel I am edging towards "yes" and then high-tailing it out of here pdq. But if "no" then will continue onto PFS. It's been quite a journey and still some surprises to come I am sure GLA
Thanks Blackfisk Will read this this evening Best wishes
Can Sandstorm shares be traded via TSX or NYSE? And if so are there benefits to one over the other? Thanks in advance for your help
Good for you Mr B (and Mrs B) Money better In the Bank of Bushy. And it looks as though your timing is pretty damned stop on. My finger is poised but .cant as yet bring myself to sell. Still waiting and hoping forlornly for the magical £1. And then "boom" I'm out of here. Hi Skibba hope all is well. Can you text me? Cheers Catch up soon
Well done Drusus. I hope you can purchase a Plethora of packets of Penguins and Hob Nobs with the proceeds. Best wishes for your future investments if any
My extravagance knows no bounds! (We can always move on to Pizza Hut) :)
Hi Skibba. All good here thanks. Glad to hear that you are keeping busy (somebody has to) :) Shame about Thursday but yes would love to catch up at the "local" :) See you there ludeck. And please if anyone is around the West End this Thursday do come to share ideas, thoughts and the odd sherbet. :)
Thanks WfG. It's interesting that the three markets are not aligned. (93p on US, 95p on AIM, 97p on TSX). I assume they will coalesce nearer the date of vote but then again what the hell do I know. It's seems to be rock solid at this price. I was hoping for the mystical £1 barrier to be broken. One last push please before decision day.
Hi Mr B Thursday will be good for me. Can I suggest 6.30 in Weatherspoons Leicester Square? And if anyone else can join us you would be most welcome. I would really appreciate discussing options and getting views on these. Ludeck? Crisp1n? Skibba? Come.one come all GLA
Where's Cantata when you need him! :)
It was a pleasure to meet you too ludeck. Thanks for your insights. Very much appreciated. Good luck in all your investments
OK Here are the Benefits as bullet-ed this evening: - For MARL Shareholders, 1) Significant and attractive premium of 84% (closing prices) and 88% (20d VWAP), 2) Cash component along with highly liquid share consideration, 3) Improved ongoing liquidity in a larger company, 4) Reduced financing risk related to development of Hot Maden, 5) Provides MARL shareholders with exposure to a diversified asset base with current cash flow, and 6) with ongoing participation with upside of Hot Maden. For Sandstorm Shareholders (Accretive Acquisition): - 1) Potential to more than double future production 2) Anchor asset gold stream intended to be converted from JV interest, 3) Potential for additional value to be realized through intended spin-out of exploration properties, (High Grade, Low Cost Project): - 1) High grades over large widths, 2) Potential for low cost operation, 3) Robust estimated economics 4) Experienced local partner in Lidya.
Thanks Crisp1n for that succinct summary. I took a piccie of the slide extolling the virtues of the combination for both MARL and Sandstorm. Will try to transcribe when I get home. I have come away from the evening with the notion that I need a plan for a "yes" vote and a "no" vote and to action it prior to the result based upon gut feeling at the time (not having a b*st*rd clue how this is going to pan out). Have been emotionally attached in the past. Less so now. GP did not hang around for the Becks (Board meeting taking precedents tbf). Sadly no ER Mr B (however GP's colleague for the evening had many of the other qualities prized by the Superficial Man) Bonus point if you know that reference
