At the moment DOO assets are an attractive source of income to possibly finance PEL et al operations. As at 31 October 2009, D1 Oils had £10.3m of free cash (unaudited). In addition, the Independent Directors anticipate inflows of a total of £3.5m from a litigation receivable and (subject to contract) from the intended sale of its former biodiesel site at Bromborough. Accordingly, under the New Business Plan, the Independent Directors do not anticipate at this stage that the Company will require new funds until late 2011, being up to a year later than previously indicated to shareholders, and that any future requirements will be to fund the working capital and infrastructure implications of significant grain / oil flows and inventories. With a market cap of around £9.5Mns, my guess is that DOO looks seriously undervalued and no wonder more than one party is interested in possibly acquiring this leader in its field. With only a relative small number of issued shares, any "city" interest and analyst interest will have a marked effect on the share price if not a volatile impact at that.

ESV Group Plc, the agribusiness and logistics investment company, announces the signing of a definitive Agreement for the sale of its Jatropha plantations business and associated assets in Mozambique to SAB Mozambique SA, a company controlled by two Italian energy companies, Api Nova Energia SrL and Seci Energia SpA. The total consideration for the business is US$4 million. The completion of the sale is subject to certain considerations being satisfied. The payment schedule comprises US$1.1 million payable in cash on closing, US$1.0 million payable upon receipt by the Group of satisfactory certificates of the discharge of past local labour, tax and social security costs and $1.9 million upon receipt by the Group of the jatropha farming rights for one of the two plantation areas, which is currently awaited from the Mozambique authorities. From the purchase consideration, a payment of US$0.5 million is to be made to the former holders of the land concerned.

Announces that, following its expansion into South America, it has entered into an agreement with Zink Financial SA which forms an important cornerstone of Earthport's global rollout strategy, enabling more rapid expansion at lower cost.The agreement, signed on 20 November 2009, provides for the payment by Zink to Earthport of a non-refundable first-year franchise fee of £3.25 million for the territories of Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Having rejected an £84.5Mns opportunistic and derisory bid from Nathan Kirsh and KiFin. Having sold a West End office development and or the letting of a major City of London property, my guess is to await for the show to go on upward and onwards, Current net asset value is around 50p/share, but this will improve significantly as the commercial property portfolio advances in line with the general economic uptick, the sp may drift after the 50p/share bid fallout but any weakening in the sp will present savvy investors the chance to snap up stock for future shareholder value upside.,

With Governments around the world in full flow in redecung carbon emisions being the driving force behind the reduction in carbon footprints and an agenda to increase low carbon vehicles. With electrification of transport both private and public as the way forward providing those batteries currently being developed can improve on battery staying power. Might be an idea to take a serious look at the only UK quoted lithium miner LND. Highly speculative and not for the risk takers, but has the potential to show some significant upside with a fair wind and a pliable "city".

There is still an opportunity to buy the shares at current depressed levels after aborted initial takeover interest, before PPR embarks on its next growth strategy. With an alliance with security blinds outfit ERU and a continuing alliance with WSG in their exclusive product distribution agreement. STEC, the body armour group, is also a company which I am keeping a close eye on where it plans to diversify into the ambulance and fire services moving away from its traditional military custom base.

Margins are low in this sector as it is very fragmented industry. There is bound to be some consolidation down the line. My guess is that WSG will improve on its offer before someone else cottons onto the idea that PPR presents a useful and cheap entry into listed status.

Hi boredmum. Yes the offer was derisory and the offer would have to be over 1p to woo the PPR Board. WSG have been looking at PPR for a very long time so I would suspect the first cheeky offer will be improved upon, there is also another interested party that has a vested interest in what happens to PPR as it has a distribution agreement in place. Await developments.
