I stand corrected. People who are forced out due to margin calls may not be stupid, but they're serious risk takers running that much margin in their accounts. The stupid people to whom I was referring are those that panic out. They are either stupid or ignorant.

Look at our fundamentals. Look at that income statement, cash flow statement and balance sheet, not to mention our growth trajectory and the space within which we operate.

My take: Shares of TRMR are on sale at these levels. If the ADRs were a decent buy back in June, before all the positive developments since (and I believe they were), they're a much better buy now.

The only fly I find in the ointment is the obscene and absurd comp packages for the top execs. But this is a non-cash event. Dilutive, yes.

This earth is full of them. For example, note the sellers in today's TRMR AIM market.

I pay pretty close attention to the ADRs throughout the day. For quite a while I refused to buy during the day because the price of the ADRs, when translated to the price of the common in London at that day's closing, would be in excess of the common's closing price. I would always place a "GTC" (Good 'Till Cancelled) order at a limit price below the translated closing price of the common. If the common would sell off during your morning hours in London, I would fill. If not, I'd let it run until the next day or so, because a GTC order is good for 3 months, unless cancelled.

That's changed. Big time. This is a totally different game than I've seen here before. The difference is remarkable, which is why we're all remarking on it now.

I guess I did care enough to look. I became suspicious of sheeeet being pulled last week. I started to look into daily short volume Thursday night (my time) and started to talk about it on this board on Friday, 19 November.

It's been going on a while, but it appears to me it's become rampant as of last week.

I've been talking about the daily short volume since late last week (Thursday, I believe. Maybe Wednesday...I don't care enough to look). Our discussion about share buybacks vs. waiting it out occurred after that.

No, I have not changed my mind. Not at all. Rather than financial engineering, which is what a buyback is, I want to see the shorts lose their interest (pun intended) through stellar results. All that matters in the end are our fundamentals.

To clarify, Ben Edelman was not a theory.

Short interest is not the same thing as daily short volume. An analogy is short interest is a snapshot, a picture taken on certain dates, twice monthly. Daily short volume is the movie that takes place between the pictures taken twice monthly.

If the shorts go home net neutral at the end of the day, or the end of the time period when short interest is measured, short interest reflects no change. Meanwhile a stock can have half their daily volume coming from sales sold short.

What's going on here sure appears to me to be an arb play. I have never, not once, subscribed to any sort of conspiracy theory on this board, and I've been here since April of 2009.

That has changed this week.

The only way they get screwed is if they're net short. But if they're using the arb play to buy shares on the cheap, they'll own both sides of the trade. They won't make as much Money, but they'll hardly get screwed. They're called hedge funds for a reason, they hedge their positions. The setup with the small volume on the NASDAQ allows them to short the eff out of it after London closes, then, as mentioned, buy on the cheap during London trading hours when the volume is much more substantial.

What a racket.

Not to get into the weeds on this one, because I really don't know exactly how it works, but I know this much: When somebody borrows stock to short, they have to pay interest on the stock they borrowed, to the firm from which they borrowed the stock. You can bet they keep close tabs on this, on both sides of the equation, for the broker when they borrow, and the shorter when they buy to cover.

I keep fooling myself by believing I've been the beneficiary of the arb play...but then they keep pounding the share lower.

So far, with a closing price of $15.60, every single one of my 30 or so tranches of ADR buys, representing 27,000 ADR units, are under water. To date, I have been "wrong" with every single buy I've executed with the ADR units. I am certainly one who wants to see it end, but we differ on how. If it takes 6 or so weeks to give us a trading update with stellar results, no problem from where I sit. Two years, to me, is short term when it comes to my stock investments.

That being said, I can't buy any more. I have to pay the IRS a ton of Dough during the first quarter of next year, and I can't afford to lose what they'll most certainly consider "their Money". (Little do they realize, it's not their Money at all...it's mine. Just try telling them that fact.)

There are ca 8,000,000 ADR units, representing ca 16,000,000 common shares, out of ca 160,000,000 total outstanding shares.

When one shorts, they usually borrow the stock from a brokerage firm to short. They track this. Naked shorting is another story,

OK, TBH, I think a buyback would be totally lame at this point in time. I don't mean to be rude, I am just being honest. Remember, I am an American....it's in our DNA. No offence meant.

Think about it: If the information I posted below is accurate, one out of every two shares traded today (19 November) was a short sale. And by all indicators (OK, what I believed I witnessed), it appears almost all the short sales would have occurred after the market closed in London.

I am well aware of this. But I believe the time frame could be a couple to a few weeks shorter than two months. They can easily give a trading update at or just before (or just after) year's end. That would allow for ca 6 weeks of carnage brought on by the shorts, and it would serve to teach the morons who sell on no news a good lesson. Or they could do it sooner. They know what the biz is doing and could easily give us a Christmas gift a week or two before year's end, should one be coming our way.

But I find similar information on two sites:

The short sale volume percent (not short interest) for stock ticker TRMR is 52% on Nov 19, 2021. The short sale volume is 65,087. The total volume is 124,486. The short sale volume percent is up 3% compare to Nov 18, 2021.

Doing a share buyback would entail a bit of a problem of its own. They recently sold ADSs at a price of 19. Then, five months later, they use the cash to buy shares back at a lower price. That won't sit well with a lot of investors.

I get your point, but personally I'd like to see them ride it out and kill the shorts with performance. We spent a ton of Money in order to do the offering, and to spend part of that Money to buy back the shares that we just offered on the open market in order to raise Cash seems to me to be counter productive.

When I get the time to send my email it's going to suggest reporting to the SEC.

The fact of the matter is, it's not managements responsibility to manage the share price on a day to day basis. It's their job to manage the company. If investors are too effing stupid to realize in what they've invested, then that's on them. They'll learn in the not to distant future that selling on no news, for no good reason, is foolish. And, as they say, a fool and his Money are soon to be parted.

The difference between short interest and short volume:

There has been a good deal of discussion back and forth here on the topics of "short interest" and "short volume." I thought it might be helpful to shed some light on the important distinction between these two.

Think of short interest as a "photograph" at a given point in time of the total number of shares held short as of that precise moment (most often, the end of a quarter or a month).

Think of short volume as a "movie" covering the activity of a trading day (or longer period), which captures on film the total number of shares shorted during that day.

And finally, think of the short volume percentage as the fraction that results from dividing the total number of shares shorted during that day by the total number of shares traded for that day.

The really critical point to understand here is that short volume for a given trading day or other period is not a number that can be added to existing short interest to derive the new short interest total. The reason for that is that the short volume on any given day measures only the shares shorted and takes no account of the share trades made to close short positions. Most typically, a very high percentage of short trades will be closed on the same day resulting in a short interest at the end of the day that is little changed from the short interest at the beginning of that day.

How and why does this happen? Welcome to the world of HFT (high-frequency trading), where the bots hit the market with a staccato of relatively small trades, the net effect of which is to drive the SP down on moderately low volume. At that point (or on closely following days), shares are purchased at the new, lower prices to close out the shorts. So the net change in short interest is often very small even when the short volume is very large.
