Sadly, barring something extraordinary, we are going to have a Labour government. Sunak has teed up taxation nicely for Labour to add to which they will. Last one out turn the lights off as Labour will go after the banks, oil companies and anyone with any wealth. Short-sighted nonsense which the country will regret apart from the feckless, the work shy and even more migrants as Starmer cosies up to the EU 🙄

Just bought some more of these, my 4th purchase. Base rates look like they’re going to peak at 5.5% for now so what a steal these are with an 8.5% yield and a decent bonus month to come 👍 The share price should continue drifting upwards likewise……

Was on the cusp of dumping these but will stick with them for now. Decent enough results with a 10% yield at the current price. Solvency II a slight concern but company seems relaxed about it……

When the shares go ex on a special dividend, your holding will drop by the value of the dividend. Not sure how many times this needs to be told to livestock. He seems incapable of understanding the mechanics of it 🙄

If you have already taken your 25%, you presumably have started drawdown with the rest ? If you’re putting 40% into your work pension now, you will only get tax relief up to £10,000 of your contributions.

Why would your pension be frozen ?

If you look around other companies on LSE, these block listings are quite prevalent on RNSs. They are going to happen anyway irrespective of buybacks. This point keeps having to be reiterated to those who object to buybacks. If there are no buybacks, your holding will be diluted by new issues of shares for staff. It’s a small fraction again this year of the buyback amount of shares. I guess if one really objects to the issue of shares to staff, the thing to do is bring the matter up at AGMs. I personally don’t have a problem with it as the bank staff’s average salary is not that great. I’m a firm believer in staff having a stake in their company. It is in effect a form of profit related pay.
