You too fella. My pension is half in bonds and half in equities currently. The equities are mainly in the USA and I have a number of funds invested in India and Japan and a number of UK stocks (BAE, Rolls Royce, Marks and Spencer’s and some of the financials that pay a good dividend but don’t seem to go anywhere 😂 It was quite scary to start with but I’m happy with how I’m invested currently. Best of luck with whatever you do.

It was Sam when base rates were virtually zero. Alas they are no more. I manage my own pension now and I take the risk on my investments. If you’re in good health I’d keep your final salary pension. l’ve had health issues and decided to cash in so I could leave my pension to my kids. Labour want to rob it now hence the desire to live where IHT is minimal.

Multiply your annual pension by 20 and that’s how much it’s worth. I sold my final salary pension when interest rates were 0.25% for 33 times my annual pension but the multiples must have come down now with interest rate rises. You might be worth more than you think ! Don’t tell the wife as she might want to take a life insurance policy on you 😉
