Anyone who has got in at these levels is buying cheap. Always follow the money. Directors buys recently and it looks like good housekeeping is being done to improve the balance sheet. I have just bought in and Im confident this will be my best share in my portfolio. GG

This business loses money hand over fist each year ( rampers show me figures stating otherwise ) and is basically in business in the HOPE that they will hit the jackpot somehow with Uruguay. I have taken a punt but it really is nothing more than that based on the fact that other Majors are interested and they MAY have a farm out with Chevron. The deal does sound too good to be true with Chevron 40/60 but one lives in eternal hope. That said I have pretty much zero trust in Ulliel and his board and would have to open the curtains if they told me it was daylight !!

I think you may be over thinking it mate. I think the likes of a true oil company like Chevron would not even bother to report this in their accounts. The farm in to Chevron Is spare change down the back of a sofa to a company of this size whereas it is life and death to the cash cow called Challenger Energy and Eytan's supply of dough to maintain his writing and travelling, which he clearly loves to do as he describes himself as a serious author now online. Chevron wouldnt give it a second thought to renegotiate or cancel the deal they have a market capital of 257 billion. The Uruguay deal is probably well down their to do list and if it wasnt for Eytan's continual promotion no one would know anything about these oil licences and they are never promoted by anyone other our CEO. What baffles me though and what I find most intriguing is why the chairman would buy such a huge block of shares at the end of July and nothing has been heard of since ? Very puzzling : GG.

1. Of course there is jeopardy to you if the deal didnt progress as the company and your investment would be worthless.

2. If the farm out with Chevron didnt progress it wouldnt be a DEAL only discussions would have taken place regardless of it being a " super-major.

3. If the deal didnt take place you probably have got it nailed on with your last few words. " A company with no credibility and run by amateurs ".

Dont let pride and trying to prove a point on a bulletin board get in the way of cold hard facts. A deal is not a deal until it is signed for and carried through to the end by both parties. A long long way to go and even then its all dependent on finding huge volumes of quality oil and gas. GG

Anyone thinking of investing in CEG totally ignore the posts of in4edros . It is pretty obvious he either works for CEG or is delusional as his posts are totally irrational . I have a significant investment in this outfit , I bought in again after losing a truckload of money on their last drill which was calamatous to say the least and quite frankly in my opinion the directors were less than truthful with the facts. I only hope that the small investors are not getting screwed again but the longer the delay in the official announcement of the Chevron farm out the more worrying for the investors. They can employ their paid rampers and throw a few quid at them to put absurd comments on this notice board but I honestly say invest here with great caution and completely ignore the ridiculous posts that only ever criticise people who are not 100% positive about the share as they are fools and dangerous fools at that - GG.

The delay and share sales of this magnitude is worrying.

You need to take a sip from the cup called reality. The last drill Uliel and Potter were involved in was a bigger farce than Fawlty Towers and whilst we have consolidated once again the share price has unsuprisingly fallen on the lack of any news. If you review carefully virtually every online article promoting the Uruguay oil blocks has Eytan Uliel's stamp all over. Show me an article from Shell or Chevron or any of the other majors. Eytan is now professing to be a serious " author ". Let's hope this farm in he has negotiated at 60/40 is not another work of his fiction. GG

john briggs seems the only sane voice in the crowd of lunatics who currently post on this board. i am not in the mad rampers brigade like in4cedros, but i'm not in the total sceptics like jb . i ebb and flow on the news, and currently, there is a serious lack of it. the share price is falling, and i am starting to get concerned despite the chairman lumping in july with a massive buy. let's hope there is some positive development soon from chevron because to be honest we are all hanging our shirts on chevron as there is absolutely no other reason to buy shares in this shower of ****. gg

You stated that it doesn't matter if we don't find oil; what matters is that we have negotiated with a super major. That is a real head-shaker for me. ITS ALL ABOUT FINDING THE OIL AND IN HUGE QUANTITIES !!

As I have said many times, this is a major binary punt. The likelihood ( as per Ancap ) of there even being oil offshore Argentina is approximated at between 5% - 25%. Even if there is oil, the only company actively promoting the Uruguay offshore blocks is CEG and, in particular, Eytan Uliel, who is now promoting himself as a serious author, having written a number of award-winning fiction books. Google his name ! Maybe we are all buying into this fiction writer. Every online article on the Uruguay basin and its prospects is written or presented by Eytan Uliel. The head of ANCAP and Uliel's potential barrels of oil differ massively as well. It's a massive gamble, and the longer the delay, the more risk of investors losing their money yet again. You keep writing your paid posts for Eytan - In fact, why don't you join him and become a fiction writer yourself : GG
