Even IF, FIL were to sell the remainder of their holding which is currently around 3% then that would leave a short fall of approximately 8% shares still required by JD Sports to full full their 29.9% stake. 8% is likely to push this forward by at least another 20p plus. Now that’s all well and good... But... if you believe JDSports have only done this as an investment then you must be mad. JDS are looking to take out their competition and to be fair they will have played a blinder so far but shares all the way up to £1. After that’s then it’s mostly going to be £2 per share. Expect bigger buys coming soon, expect TR1’s and then..... an offer, they have money to spend.

Sparky I think revenue is likely to be closer to 120 million based on previous forecasts. Great RNS. Director buys in next day or two.

@Smartie I dont know, I agree the political scence is not great but look at the chart, we are now seeing higher lows and highs each time the trade moves, I would not suggest that HFD are going down, would you?

Jay, yes increased revenue, are you denying that? 90M (2017) 116M (2018) 132M projected but likely to be 138M based on 6minths prior for (2019) so their is an increased revenue. Quite right it should be Mcap 50M not 500M thank you for pointing the error out without a piss take - appreciated. Whilst I appreciate underlying net profit will be down, this is due to investment in software, marketing strategy and upgrading existing stores, not only opening new stores, without this investment they would not grow and so I believe they have got the strategy right. They cannot rely on branches within the likes of Debenhams or House of Frazer as has been pointed out and have to have some form of high street presence. I agree with you though that it must not be so aggressive as to match FOOT, but I don’t think they are trying to match them? What do you see as far belie per share at the moment? I still think this should be up around 35/40p minimum at the moment.

@littleknowledge, "Quiz is behaving like an oil stock thats had a failed drill"..lol not quite, Quiz won't be doing a placing, they are not an explorer, they have a proven track record, money in the bank, revenue, profit, assets, stock, but if you'd like to draw a comparison then I would agree that both will see a huge rise is share price this year.. that is as long as you not talking about the one run by Conk. ;)

@Kentlondon I am not talking about the owners who worked their socks off getting this company to where is was able to do an IPO, I am talking about the directors who are now in the know, the people such as the chief financial officer such as Gerrard Sweeny. Perhaps we will see a TR1 next week.

Jay... can I suggest you wake up and get yourself a cup of coffee... second paragraph of the latest RNS... Seriously only the second paragraph so you didn't need to read too far states the following:>

The QUIZ brand has continued to expand online with Group online revenue increasing by 34.1% in the Period. In line with recent trends, the brand experienced the strongest growth through QUIZ's own websites where revenue increased by 50.8%.

I think they are ahead of you there Jay... Now if you read ALL of the latest two RNS's you will see Quiz are actually doing pretty good with increased revenue, 12 million in the bank, 42 million in NET assets which should give them a market cap of 500million plus which is 35p + per share.

@threeputt, Carillion didn't have Mike Ashley owning 30% of the company and willing to take it over with his billions, I am sure Debenhams will be fine.

Seriously what is not to like here? I think Halfords have taken an over cautious view, revenue up, cash flow up, reduced operational costs and honouring an increased dividend. No wonder the finance director bought shares this week!

We expect free cash flow for the full year to be up on last year and we remain confident that we will grow free cash flow over the medium term, supported by good early progress in our cost and cash efficiency programmes. This, combined with positive longer-term prospects for the Group, gives the Board confidence to maintain its dividend policy.

Directors need to show a sign of faith in the current share price just like the Chief Finance Director has done over at Halfords HFD. Quiz Directors could do with doing the same if this is supposed to be a good investment!
