The selling pressure has been there or thereabouts for a few days now, this drop was on the cards. The MM's punish uncertainly & even harder with AIM stocks. I still hold a few of these & will be watching closely for any further dip when I will be grabbing a few more. I think tender results may lift us from any low but I would not expect a big rise unless the tender results are spectacular! IMO The rise will come here once we get news of funding on the new plant, but of course the funding will need to be palatable to investors. GLA
Bit disappointed not to see this go up a little fraction today Still, good to see we are holding at these levels. GLA
I had a bad feeling about my total investment in here, not so much with FDI but essentially with the sentiment of the markets in general, especially AIM. I was in profit on Wednesday so I took my initial investment out just to leave the freebies to do their thing. I don’t think I have played this at all well as too much averaging up had significantly diminished my profits. I suppose I should be happy though as some of the longer term holders are still waiting for double figures. I am disappointed with my judgement though as I was convinced we were going to do much better in the short term than we have. I am flabbergasted at the current sp. It is still so much lower than the last placing & all those recent II's buys really did instil confidence for me. I am still holding albeit greatly reduced. SORRY to all my fellow holders for not having the balls to hold them all. Will be watching with interest & will probably top up if it goes even lower. AIM right now is just so unpredictable, it's anyone's guess which way this is going in the short term. A lot of stocks on AIM are getting walked down again way further than anyone would have imagined. FDI is not alone ! GLA
Thought I would stop by to say hi as I am still very much in here. In fact I had a small top up last week on the dip. Nice to see the sp holding nicely. News should be with us re the October tender very soon so I think the current sp is around about the new support. I cannot really envisage much of a move south from these levels & once we get the expected news a nice more north is more than possible. Anyone looking for a white knuckle ride of an investment should perhaps look elsewhere but for a nice slow burner with a possible good percentage rise from today's sp should take a good look at Firestone. GLA
I was hoping for the tender results before today. The sooner the better now. These false reported trades IMO have done us no favours. I hope we are not going to have another full day of it. GL
Good to see some more honest reporting of trades today. Some reasonable size buys as well. Lets hope the soon to arrive tender results will keep us on the radar. GLA
I'd like a top up at 4.5p as well :-) Not sure that's going to happen any time soon. Although you never can tell anything is possible on AIM. Lets hope the tender results lift the sp
Another day of misleading trade data then. It is a joke the way these trades are getting reported. Loaded dice, all designed to give the MM's the upper hand. GLA
Always happy to read all points of view & agree that Firestone's new plant becoming a reality is 'right now' an unknown. However, I would be interested in what you think would have been their motive(s) in bothering with the DFS if they knew they had no chance of ever putting together the required funding? From your posts, am I to understand then that you would not touch FDI with a barge pole or is there a price you would buy in at ? Regards
It is a shame perhaps that FDI did not delay the release of the DFS until the funding was nailed down. Although, it might also have also been presumptuous to think that the funding would be announced in the DFS as the funding may not have been in its remit. It is also a possibly that FDI knew that by keeping the funding ambiguous it could possible deflate the interest from PI's. Who knows, but they may prefer their 'mates' to get a chance to hover up all the cheap shares. As you mention Zorns "no surprise to see the late buys show up". Of course that is me just speculating but either way tomorrow will be very interesting.
looking back at some of the sell prices, it looks like the mm's have pulled some right stokes on some people today.
Today's DFS is somewhat lacking & I am rather disappointed that the funding was not further addressed. However, if the funding had been better addressed in today's rns I am confident we would all have had a great day here. Of course the markets do not like uncertainty & this has manifested itself via today's lacklustre performance in the share price. We are still waiting for the results of the recent tender but I am not sure how much that will affect the share price. Nads recent tender results although good, did nothing to lift the price. If the trades remain as slow as this afternoon we could see the mm's take full advantage & shake the tree. I think that today's trades are again VERY misleading but will still probably deter some PI's from jumping aboard. It looks like that may have already happened this afternoon. If you jumped aboard in the last few days, given the very high potential upside of FDI, imo you are still in at a VERY low price. My advice is to ride any possible downs and remain focused on what FDI should become a 'mid-tier diamond producer' & once they are on the way to achieving this a penny here & there will become totally irrelevant. Along with the outstanding funding issue, we already know there are rare stones in the mine so we are likely to have a good news rns come at anytime. Therefore, if anyone does sadly decide to sell or top slice perhaps it might be a good idea to keep some FDI shares safely locked away. With regards to the 'know it all' at RHPS, well he knows NO more than us. He gets just as many wrong as right & on the other hand UBS & Henderson's recent buying must mean they think it's a good investment! The above is my honest opinion of where we are now. I am staying in & wish you all the very best of luck.
Your recent post Zorns sums up the position here very nicely. I think Zorns's "cherry on the cake" could be quite probable as recent press has already confirmed Firestone reporting ‘considerable’ progress in diamond quality recovered at Lesotho mine with further discoveries ‘expected’ in the short term as the higher-grade rock is processed. IMO Firestone were either incredibly lucky to find the one & only rare 2B blue diamond in the mine or there are more rarities to come. Also not forgetting the 2A & other diamonds. The various news is expected any day now so IMO anyone thinking of jumping aboard now could see a nice short term profit or for those wishing to invest longer term, not sure you will get a better opportunity to get in. GLA
You are not an idiot. It is always very tempting to hop off & on especially when others on these boards are screaming buy & the one you are on is flat lining. I have done it myself toooooooo many times. Yes it has sometimes paid off but often times it has not. The worst of all scenarios is hopping off one share only to see it rise & the one you bought goes south. Sickening, when you get locked in. I hope you got a good price on solo. I have been in solo for over a month now @ .33 & got a small top up matched 1st thing @ 54. Only have a very small holding though so haven't sold yet, waiting for farm in news. Over the past few days it looks like solo has been a day traders wet dream. FDI is where I have the largest holding right now. Obviously everyone trades in a different way & I see it like this....You cannot be on every rising share so pick your punts & if it looks good, stick with it! If it was a bad punt, cut your losses & move on. Often times "if it's in the news, it's in the price" & btw solo released an official rns this am at about 10.00 I think. Very good luck to you & everyone else. Gotta dash, later's
It certainly does look like it is perhaps time for buying diamond stocks. Especially those that are at the lows of FDI's current sp. The market does seem to be improving for the whole sector now. The expected (any day) results of FDI's latest tender should also help to confirm this. Looking back at today's FDI trades. Yes there were a few sellers but compared to the amount of shares that have changed hands over the past week or so, the amount of selling was so very insignificant. Some peps strategy is just a set % so bound to be a little selling. IMO we are simmering very nicely here guys, with the best yet to come! GLA
Very nice surprise to see we finished flat today. When I left the house we were some 6% down. As the FT has had a little bit of a spanking today, coming back to finish flat, speaks volumes! We need some news soon to keep the momentum up. We know the news is very soon so in the meantime let's hope 6p is the new support. Well done to anyone taking advantage of the manufactured dip in price today.
Guys I alluded to the mm's games in my afterhours post last Friday & I did think all those reported "sells" yesterday afternoon could have an impact on the pi's today. Pure & simple mm's games. Nothing has changed here today. IMO FDI are undervalued simple as that! Also, the FT is down today so the mm's are using all the above to have a little tree shake. Today's % down has cost me a pretty penny on paper but nothing I can do about it. Work commitments have & will keep me away from the screen most of this week & I am not going to set any stops on FDI. I have only been trading for the past 5 or 6 years & I have learned that jumping on & off shares can be rather costly. I used to hop off & on different stocks & it was not that profitable. The dealing cost, stamp duty & time looking at the screen all day proved to be (for me) not that great a strategy. My recent strategy has been to pick a few good companies by doing the research & if they seem oversold, undervalued & with decent prospects I buy in. To me FDI looked great & that was EVEN before last week's news of rare stones & new trading facility. I will be gobsmacked if FDI does not prove to be a sound punt. Keep the faith guys, don’t let the mms take your shares ! Zorns, what's all this about Mikey then ! Gotta dash no chance to post again until this evening so catch you all laters. GLA
So a sea of red this afternoon then. I wonder if that may scare the less sophisticated pi tomorrow early doors. Of course we all know that at least 60% of those sells were buys & maybe even more. This still looks great. Since we started moving north there hasn't been a single retrace. We have finished on day highs & with all the news on the very near horizon, imo this has loads left in the tank. I am not sure which will come 1st the DFS or the tender results. Maybe the longer they wait the higher we go as anticipation builds. FDI have said DFS by end October so either way, not long now ! Anyone else wondered about the word count of the DFS. It could be a seriously weighty read. So hope they release it after hours of very early morning.
indeed, the mm's are working very hard to disguise the true interest here. I have to leave the house in 15 mins, so will miss the last hour or so :-( GLA all. I will try to pop in here later this eve.
