This was a £2 + share for circa 5 years solid prior to covid. I see little or no reason for it not to return to similar levels in time. Will I or other be patient enough to hold until that time, let's see in time what we do.
It was certainly painful seeing things so far in the red for last few weeks ( I and others should keep in mind it has only been weeks, few months).
I am not sitting counting the money yet as that's never smart. Hopefully won't see previous lows again, but may well be bumps yet.

Was up 10% Friday also from early intra day price :-)

While I welcome news of fairly strong ticket sales I caution all on such posts.
From experience I see no way of knowing ticket sale numbers other than a report from Cineworld to confirm.
I regularly found seats that seemed to be booked when booking my own online to be empty upon actually reaching the cinema and watching film.
I do not mean occasionally or the odd seat either.
Not for one minute am I saying attendances are not reaching reasonable levels, but I am saying looking at the online booking system is not a reliable methodology.

RS2002 where did you get info of re opening in Scotland this Friday?
I have not seen any such welcome news.
Missing my cinema visits big time so hope you are correct.

I welcome every piece of positive news we can get during this difficult time around the world.

It's not all about the popcorn, however it helps as does other snacks. Cost to produce (purchase of machines, maintenance agreement, staffing, electricity) is negligible while sales are far from.

I agree it is a stock with a level of risk many might be better to avoid.
Let's be honest there has been zero (well maybe exception of facemask producers, hand sanitizer etc) growth businesses in the last few months.
Nobody should make investment decisions on the basis of an unknown person online or in the street.
We should all do our own homework on our investment choices and on balance I viewed cine as worth the risk in investment.
Did I or do I expect it to be a smooth ride, hell no.

If anyone was previously in doubt they should now know it is completely futile attempting to have a reasoned debate with shorty shorter ;-)

There is without doubt risk in this stock (and all stocks) especially during these unpredictable times.
Equally there is potential upside with this or any other stock.
Problem is too many on both sides have a blinkered viewpoint and will not be fully honest there is potential for movement both ways.

Young people also like a life beyond the four walls of their or their parents homes come the weekend especially.
Night out with their partner isn't exactly the same sat in parents living room.
I have at least 4 years of regular cinema going amongst other things to collaborate this claim.
Unlike random statement's from some with no substance to them.

Nobody needs the hassle of putting clothes on in the morning so they stay in bed all day. Hassle to make food so don't eat either .

Well once 20p has been the level for longer than £1 + I will come back and say how right you were.
Equally I would hope if the share returns to higher levels for number of years you will be as gracious and say you were wrong.

Shorter, again a lot of I'll informed tripe. The cinema popcorn machine will NEVER have been designed to make profit at only full capacity as the cinema for decades if ever has never been run at full capacity. The percentage that is made on popcorn and other snacks is widely reported to be callosal.
Full cinema screens only happen on the massive blockbusters and in say first week of screening of them.
Otherwise majority of time screens have a very small attendance percentage and this already makes the chain profitable.

Well they have been servicing the majority of the debt since Regal takeover (which is mostly reason for the debt) and making profit.
Check accounts in for previous results.
Until covid (which will reduce in effect to businesses and life in general even without a vaccine as has already been shown) the company made money, was an ongoing concern and for the last 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or more YEARS of you want had a share price way over current levels or even levels most want/require on the positive side.
Over £2 for almost all of that 5 YEAR period, not 5 days or weeks as some are suggesting is an excellent barometer of company share price.

What an incredibly weak article ocean. Whatever the source needs to look at literally every single industry and job the world over. Covid closed near every business resulting in zero turnover. Some for longer than others. Covid did not and will not permanently close businesses that are well run and have a place in the world.
It doesn't matter how often you say something, if it is incorrect or will remain incorrect.
Watching a movie at home has its place, always has, always will.
However very crucially it is not and will never be an "experience day" kids, families, individuals want to do things with the money they earn and free time they have. Be that holidays abroad, go to live sporting events, eat out, any number of hobbies, go to the cinema with all it offers that no matter of TV advances, streaming can replicate.

From a financials and investment angle Wales opening and indeed even all UK should make little difference. However each area opening is welcome news and builds confidence and a trend hopefully.
I must say I am now REALLY missing and eager to return to my regular cinema visits in Scotland.
