And the company then explicitly confirms:

That matters. This is no longer “early-stage interest” or “exploratory discussions”. An actual proposal has been received, and the counterparty has already completed an on-site due diligence visit. That is about as advanced as you can get without signing.

Naturally, the commercial terms can’t be disclosed yet, but the key point is that a third party has reviewed the data, visited the field, and formally put something on the table.

What’s also being overlooked is the next line:

> “Meanwhile we continue to follow up on leads with two other potentially interested parties.”

So this is not a one-horse race. There is:

one proposal already received

plus two additional confirmed interested parties

That introduces competition. Whether that results in improved terms, parallel negotiations, or a preferred-bidder process, it puts Petro Matad in a much stronger negotiating position than if they were dealing with a single counterparty.

Add to that the parallel work on potential JVs for Block VII, and it’s clear the company is actively positioning itself for partner-funded growth across multiple assets, not just surviving on incremental production.

This is another significant step forward for the company. Partner capital is the catalyst that turns Block XX from a couple of producing wells into a proper field development, while preserving shareholder value and reducing dilution risk.

Extremely interesting times ahead.

A farm-in to Block XX it this stage is arguably the best possible structure for MATD.

A farm-in means someone else brings capital and pays to earn an interest, rather than MATD selling down cheaply or having to fund everything itself. In other words, Block XX stays alive, scalable, and moving forward without MATD taking all the financial risk. (And us shareholders don't take the dilution hit!)

This is especially important now because:

Block XX is already producing (H1 + Gazelle, H2 oil proven)

Infrastructure and export routes are proven

The geological model is de-risked enough for third parties to engage

MATD can’t realistically fund a full multi-well development alone without dilution

A farm-out at this stage could have meant MATD giving up value too early.

A farm-in means an external party has looked at the data, visited site, and said:

That’s validation.

It also sets up the right development path:

multi-well drilling programmes

shared capex burden

faster field development

lower dilution risk

The SunSteppe section is not filler. It’s detailed, specific, and clearly progressing.

Yes, H2 has been suspended for winter. That’s not ideal.

But it’s also:

not declared a failure

not written off

and oil content increased during clean-up as expected

Given the weather, suspending without forcing a bad conclusion is sensible. The data will now be reviewed properly and remediation options assessed in spring.

Bottom line

This RNS is not about short-term disappointment. It’s about where the company is heading:

a producing base generating revenue

a near-resolution to payment withholding

a live farm-in proposal with due diligence done

and a renewables JV with serious scale and partners

For me, the farm-in progress alone materially outweighs the H2 pause, because it’s the catalyst for proper field development and long-term value creation.

The story has moved on from “will it produce?” to “who funds the next phase?”

That’s a much better place to be.

If H2 flowing, 3 operational wells. field proven up, economics massively change.

If H2 is producing in any meaningful way, it is far more important than “just another well coming online”. It would be the moment Petro Matad moves from potential to confirmed field development, and the implications for Block XX are huge.

Heron-1 by itself could always be explained away as a geological sweet spot — a lucky pocket, a localised high-quality zone that doesn’t necessarily extend far. Without a second successful producer, the basin-wide commerciality is still technically unproven. But if Heron-2, drilled away from H1, begins to flow oil at commercial rates, that changes the interpretation entirely: it proves reservoir continuity, confirms the structural model, and demonstrates that the Heron accumulation is not a one-off, but a repeatable, developable oilfield.

In oilfield terms, H2 coming good is the catalyst that shifts Block XX from being “a well” to being “a field”. Once two wells on separate pads produce oil, the probability that H3, H4, H5 etc will also deliver increases dramatically. Field development stops being speculative — it becomes a planned, scalable project with multi-well economics, long-term plateau potential, and a much lower geological risk profile. So yes — if H2 is producing, it is not just “another well”. It is the moment the basin is proven, the model is validated, and the entire development case is unlocked. It turns Block XX from a story into a proper oilfield, and turns Petro Matad from an explorer into a genuine Mongolian oil producer with room to scale.

Rns tomorrow is a subtle deramp btw. It's setting expectations only to deflate if none arrives.

If they had material information, by law they have to release it.

I expect an RNS the morning of the investor presentation, IF something material happens by then. And even then, it may be about advanced negotiations etc.

People trying to expect huge imminent news are trying to make a story up to set up the 'see I told you it isn't happening!!' the day after.

Looks like this post from this morning did indeed bode well!

Potentially some huge movements here this month. A humble 1.4m shares sat in my ISA and will continue to sit there depending on the quality and longevity of the updates to come!

A lot of noise on here lately — plenty of people pushing the “it’s shut-in”, “H2 has failed”, “nothing is happening” narrative.

But today’s RNS actually tells us something very important, and it’s the opposite of what the doom crowd expected.

Here’s the simple version:

1️⃣ If H2 had failed or been shut in, today would have been the day to RNS it.

We were exactly at the point in the calendar when:

weather has collapsed

last RNS was 5 weeks ago

company had already warned about “shut-in if low recovery continues”

If the well was dead for the winter, they would have put it in today’s announcement.

Silence would NOT be an option.

They didn’t.

2️⃣ Instead of a shut-in notice, they announced a full Investor Presentation.

This is absolutely not what a company does when it’s about to reveal bad news.

Management does not sit in front of hundreds of investors for a live Q&A if:

a failed H2 result is pending,

or a winter abandonment has been decided,

or they’ve already accepted defeat on the cleanup.

If things had gone badly, they would have dropped a small RNS and gone quiet until spring.

Instead, we now have:

➡ A live presentation

➡ CEO + management present

➡ Open questions allowed

➡ Timing perfectly aligned with end-year operational updates

Companies only do this when they actually have something to talk about.

3️⃣ The total absence of bad news is… news.

If H2 was officially non-commercial or shut in, the company must disclose it.

They haven’t.

In the AIM space, no bad news when bad news is expected is a bullish signal.

It means:

H2 is not written off

H2 is not confirmed to be shut in

Testing/operations clearly aren’t “finished unsuccessfully”

Something is ongoing that they want to speak about on the 16th

Satellite watchers are reporting site activity

Multiple people using publicly available satellite feeds have mentioned:

visible movement on site

tracks in fresh snow

cranes / tanks appearing

ground disturbance suggesting ongoing operations

If accurate, that is not what a shut-in site looks like.

A shut-in site =

everything removed, no vehicles, no heat, no crew, no cranes, no tanks.

If machinery is still arriving or moving — that means they’re still working.

The company will obviously comment on the 16th.

5️⃣ Combine the clues:

No winter shut-in RNS

No H2 failure RNS

Full investor briefing announced

CEO taking live questions

Ongoing site activity (unconfirmed but compelling)

Timing aligned with when updates normally land

5 weeks since last update → silence not equal bad news because MATD only publishes results, never mid-test stages

Put it all together and you get something the bashers don’t want to acknowledge:

👉 If bad news existed, it would already have been RNS’d.

👉 The company wouldn’t expose themselves to a live Q&A if things were negative.

👉 The fact we got a presentation announcement instead of a winter shutdown RNS is a positive signal.

6️⃣ The doom narrative doesn’t fit the facts.

Today’s RNS is absolutely not “nothing.”

It tells us:

They’re not shutting in (yet)

They’re not releasing bad news

They want to present to shareholders publicly

They are confident enough to field questions live

They clearly have something on the operational or strategic side to discuss

In AIM, behavioural signals often matter as much as the numbers.

And this was a very clear signal.

The Company sold 123,711.8 carats of the low-grade gem and industrial stones at an average price of US$6.87 per carat in line with expectations, and 216.97 carats of a mix of higher-grade gem quality stones at an average price of US$1,084.30 per carat.

A total of 123,928.8 carats were sold out of 126,677.50 representing a 98% sale of the goods offered and the total revenue to Vast net of commissions is approximately US$1.09 million which is expected to be received shortly.

so he raised over 5 million pounds and sold 124k Carats of diamonds for 800k GBP. 'in line with expectations'.

cant tell us what he expects from the rest though can he? the fact that they knew how much they 'expected' to get, is surely witholding material information from the market.

Add on to that, how many stones are remaining - what are their 'in line with expectations' for the rest of the stones? or let me guess, they only knew what the scrap was worth. $6 a carat. thats beyond belief. not even the derampers plucked out a figure that low - i guess AP proved everyone wrong alright and that was the only way he was going to do it.

below they value he can raise at now, and the creditors could pull the rug and put this company into liquidation, any single day they want. That is a fact.
