The price goes down in low-volume shares because the market makers have to provide a market, so must offer to buy or sell at different prices, create turnover, and hope to make a profit on each, but this entails holding stock. If they bought too much in the froth of excitement they need to offload some when the company prospects are dimmed, as now.
Price will rise if people keep buying.
