Thanks DCB, the prawn Vindaloi was a bit on the hot side this afternoon but very nice, non left, went very well with the prawns. I usually have Madras so will stick to that. I do like lamb in a curry, it seems to take on the flavour of the spices so well.

A common question among many pond owners is why they can�t use Roundup for their emerged pond weeds. Sanco recommends using Catt Plex instead of Roundup to kill emerged and surrounding pond weeds. Sanco�s Catt Plex is the same active ingredient as Roundup, glyphosate. However, Roundup contains a surfactant that is not legal to use in aquatic environments. A surfactant is an additive that will help stick the chemical onto the plant and aid in breaking through the waxy coating.

Jayfax, I would love a hedgehog but my fence probably stops them getting in, when I lived in South Lanarkshire, I introduced toads to my poly tunnels and the were a great success, the dogs were mesmerised by them hopping about the garden. Toads don�t seem to do well here, must be the salt air. I did make cider myself once, it proved very popular, friends called it rocket fuel. It blew your head off! Lol

Thanks Gino, the pub has had a fair bit of success, we refurbed it with profits made from pub sales, we have live music once a month and also dominos played weekly for prizes, also have a pub quiz regularly.

By the way Hooky, those pub shares are doing well and are now worth �5 each, face value is �1.

Hooky, yes I am friendly with the local licensee. I also have shares in the pub . A few of us got together and pooled a bit of cash when it went bankrupt, it is now run by volunteers, I am on the committee and also do a stint behind the bar at times. I have tried beer with quite a bit of success, I will get the slops out of the drip trays tonight !!

Yes, it is fairly wet at times THE, it was last year hence the epidemic of snails. I live pretty Far East so it is 50 % drier than the West Coast and we don�t have the midgie problem.

I have tried everything jjcarrera, my snails and slugs are intrepid travellers, last year the hostas, of which I have a large collection, were like lace, mainly due to the snail epidemic we had. I am fairly on top of the snails now but still struggling with the slugs.

Trump has once more annoyed the Scots by banning the sale of their other nation drink Iron Bru from the Turnbury Hotel which he owns and has recently had a �200,000 refurb. The reason is that Iron Bru stains the carpets in the rooms and bars but Scots feel it is really because it is too near to the colour of his orange complexion. Scots are now boycotting the hotel and golf course.
