There is alot of positivity here and generally when there is some direct news regarding this it moves quite well. Having seen the same just upon ratification what price do you see this as a minimum????

Minister of Energy and Petroleum, John Peter Amewu, said of the above mentioned figure, 58 applications were valid.

“Out of this 74%, (43) were interested in competitive bidding and 26% (15) were for Direct Negotiation; Two (2) other applications for Block 1 were invalidated. This is because this block has been reserved for the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).”

According to him, the two companies that have expressed interest in Block 1 would have to hold discussions with GNPC for possible partnership opportunities.

Are we expected to hold talks with GNPC.....

Years away????? Really with all the consortium and resources available, what makes you think years??? Can you dwell further....

Clontarf Energy owner John Teeling has dismissed reports that the company had recommenced negotiations with the government of Ghana to allow it to explore a potentially lucrative offshore exploration off the coast of the African country......Seriously not playing this down as I have a position here but was researching when I came across this......my understanding was the government had the draft which was awaiting approval. I still think it will come good but don't understand why teeling stated nothing had moved forward when the opposite was stated in September RNS.

There is a mutual desire to complete the ratification process. Our strong preference is to honour as far as possible the terms of the existing signed Petroleum Agreement, adjusting the revised coordinates and any other fine-tuning necessary.
Does it not sound like something may change with regards to the initial acreage......views welcome....

Ideally if clon is awarded block 1 then a cluff style farmout would be the best outcome for us shareholders.....

I don't know feels to me Block 1 is the prized block with discoveries around it because of which I feel GNPC will not only keep it for themselves but get in there with a major......

The way I have read it is this......Block 1 is solely in GNPC and choosen partners hands. This leaves two blocks named 4&5 which the government has stated will have direct negotiations for with the interested companies, in my opinion clontarf as per September RNS was given the nod for. So clontarf will be handed block 4 or 5.....

We are delighted to report that all outstanding issues have now been resolved with GNPC regarding our Tano 2A Block. All legal proceedings have been withdrawn so, after normal consultations, the next stage is for the Petroleum Agreement to be sent to Cabinet for review. I look forward to providing further announcements as appropriate."

The Directors of Clontarf (AIM: CLON) are pleased to announce that, further to the announcement of 19th September 2016, a proposed work programme on the Tano acreage offshore Ghana has been submitted to the Ghanaian authorities in Accra. The new work programme will form part of the ongoing negotiations regarding the terms of acquiring an exploration licence for the Tano Basin acreage.
