I've said before and I'll say again, the management team at HE1 are absolutely lightweight. You have a CEO who is really a ex-geologist. She is not a CEO and is surrounded by non-execs to advise on how to raise capital and when. Lorna Blaisse track record is not great:
Yes Delonex which was Tullow and therefore her only proper employment did have early exploration success, just like HE1. But the firm faced several structural and reputational challenges- The International Finance Corporation (IFC) invested over $60 million early on but later escalated governance concerns through its Compliance Advisor Ombudsman process, particularly regarding stakeholder engagement including the shareholders and ESG in Kenya. Initial energy discoveries did not consistently translate into development and commercial success and eventually
the company exited its key assets (e.g. Chad fields) and wound down active operations by mid-2020s.
OK so ....Blaisse’s geological leadership occurred during successful exploration windows, but the broader turnaround and commercial realisation did not materialise.
There are lots of good parallels between her past experience and where HE1 is seemingly going. 1. Early drill success. 2 Poor Comms 3. Proper commercialisation not materialising.
She shouldn't be a CEO and in my opinion there are better and more experienced teams out there in this space..
