No of shares determines price, market cap determines value.

If the market decides the company is worth more (on fundamentals, sentiment, or future potential), the market cap expands and the price follows, regardless of whether there are 500 million or 5 billion shares.

Plenty of companies with huge share counts trade at higher prices because their market cap supports it. The issue here isn’t “too many shares” — it’s whether the market is willing to assign a higher valuation.

So it’s not “straightforward mathematics” in the way you’ve framed it — the maths actually shows the opposite: price is an output of valuation, not constrained by share count alone.

Quick correction — my mistake earlier. Simple maths shows a single institution would need to invest nearly £8m to breach the 3% level, so no RNS doesn’t rule anything out.

£7m went in earlier with no 3% holding RNS, likely because it was split across several investors. We’re now told those same investors have added another £8m. I’d expect an RNS very soon (possibly tomorrow). If it lands, it strongly supports the view that serious money is backing this. It’s hard to see £15m being raised without at least one holder crossing 3%, so clarity should be imminent. Either way, the signs point to strong institutional interest.

Are a wealth Management Company net worth Circa £5million with sales circa £8million. I recon this could be a purchase by a client of theirs. It seems to me that they want the purchase to be public or why buy that extra .03%.

Have bought a stake in Carclo of over 3% as per RNS on ADVFN earlier this evening. 18.00 hrs to be correct.

There were two or three late trades posted after hours. One was for 16million+ shares @.1645 or thereabouts. It could have been an early Friday sell or more likely in my opinion a purchase from Wed or Thurs. We should find out tomorrow am, when the trades should be posted on this site which not only gives the time but the exact date also. Jmo

It is also interesting to look at the number of 10,000, 20,000 and 25,000 trades over the past week. Sure looks interesting.
