As the uses for supercaps are endless....quick energy at high or low voltage and not just those highlighted on the AVX data sheet....that is merely a taster. For a vast number of reasons and all are on easy display. The Novemebr 16 Platinum award recognised just part of the Cap-xx automotive approach with both 16v and 12v hybrid options for different activities within the auto unit whilst 48v has military and Truckstart options on which they have reduced exposure ... Future risk / reward is likely easier for them to determine now that both parties have Lodged their case. Will be interesting to see if there is a settlement as I can envisage other cases could be on the cards when you view some of the data specs that's out there. No doubt these companies do keep a close eye on each other as it's quite a small community so as previously stated the fact that Murata , AVX and Ti have placed precedent with royalty agreements will make it harder for others to dodge.

Looks to me that should it be granted then AVX have it covered for Cap-xx with their 16/48v cap-packs , just add the Cap-xx herbs and spices for an efficient energy transfer system and you can see why loxus and others may choose the path they have.
This would also account for Kongats refocusing his efforts and capital on the prismatic IOT marketplace. Just an opinion
