My bad misread post. News out that Tesla has moved to cobalt free prismatic batteries,this is for the short range model 3 in China. CATL is the supplier and it is lithium iron phosphate lower energy density. But being square they will be straight to pack saving a fortune. The reasons for this is battery constraint even tesla is struggling with supply good for us.

The EU car manufacturers seem to dismiss the transport disruption that is heading down the track. They are still thinking of cars will be the same except run by batteries. Not so they will be caught by pincer movement of declining market share and falling share price. They need to invest or manage the decline I suspect it will be brutal if it seems they are clueless which some seem to be. Market share and size mean nothing if it moves against them.

Just saw a vid on interview with Head of research of BMW. He says no investment in pure EV only hybrid as market for EV to small. He thinks BMW will be selling hybrids in 2030 if market changes might think of EV. Better than that he says only tesla are selling EV in volume so nothing to worry about. We'll good luck with that.
