Hydrogen is tricky stuff to handle. Very high input costs most people that back hydrogen are big oil companies as the main production method is steam reforming this uses loads of fossil fuel???

There are no emerging tech that can compete with lithium at moment. There are loads of stuff in the lab but implementation is a ***** ask Elon musk. He has changed to production method to cut costs of cells. Once production will be fixed for next decade. More efficient production drive down the cost curve.

My take on Elon and Bitcoin was that he did not realise how much energy it takes to mine Bitcoin. Two bits of news was that a flood in a coalmine in china resulted in a 23% drop in Bitcoin mining. Also a edges fund in new York wants to buy a coal fired power station to mine Bitcoin.This is a scrapped power station so is cheap. When musk learned of this he pulled the plug on Bitcoin. He favours doge?? Because it only uses 7% of the energy of Bitcoin. As Tesla ethos is about sustainable energy not a good look.

Agree it's finished product we are talking about. It does not matter on inputs are as long as output is within the spec customer wants. Then if their is a choice it's down to price??

Buyers will not give a fig about quality. If it's in spec guaranteed supply and price are the factors.

I think odds better than that. But it's a classic local verses national interest. I did not see the population angle very nice.
