Just a thought but if the chinese did loan out 0.6% then it would allow them to buy up another 1% of shares without trigger a TR1. They then call back the 0.6% and update market with 13.6%+ holding.

mmm... now if you were thinking of making a bid, you'd want to bag as much stock below your offer price as possible.

If a TR1 landed with Jiangxi upping their stake, then I suspect even this dosy market would join dots (they haven't so far!) and mark the price up pronto.

You never know...might have been planned. You don't know what the 'player' involved has in terms of longs booked and lets face it ... there's been plenty of time to load up in the 6's and 7's.

Unloading a 0.6% short (18m shares or so is not huge) but use it tactically at the right time unloading into demand can cause seriously high spikes in low liquidity stocks.

Remember... we were discussing the potential to rerate the price closer to a bid scenario so it doesn't look like the buyer is overpaying. It can help with that... much depends on how it's unwound.

If they keep it there until 13p is broken and then unleash an aggressive buy back, hey presto SP is nearer 16p/17p.

As it was opened around the 8p level, it was late to the party (25p+ was the time to short). That's why I don't think it was designed for anything other than to allow someone to build a stronger position (long) at lower numbers.

You could end up with 50p+ for SolGold Finance AG. And then left with regional exploco holding which nets you 5p sp equivalent or if you hold 'em for a big discovery, they could end up being worth 30p to 40p down the line. So total return could be nearer 90p to £1 afteral.

Well the ENSA licence (Tier 1 asset) is now package up under SolGold Finance AG 100% ownership so in theory can be bid on at any time. However under the cherry picking laws they would be forced to purchase the full business (regionals included) so perhaps they are waiting for that to be tidied up before bidding or doing a JV.

Process would or should go a bit like..

1. SolGold Finance AG 100% owned (core SOLG asset so can't be bought without full offer for SOLG)

2. Regionals spun out into new business exploco. That then leaves SOLG holding just the SolGold Finance AG.

3. Based on above, SolGold Finance AG can be acquired through 100% bid for SOLG.

4. Rebrand may well spell this out when it arrives with two clear businesses... 1. Developement (SolGold Finance AG) and the other Exploration (regionals).

Very easy to skirt numerous takeover regs based on that set up.

All we can do is make logical guesses based on experience... sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. I think the key difference me is when Jiangxi snaffled up an extra 5% of shares to take them to the largest shareholder position with 12%. What came after (apart from the 0.6% short lol) was a significant alignment to what I would call 'Chinese' mining strategy. Eg.. start small (Tandy open pit) and build into the block cave works with cash flows roughly balancing out of offsetting mid spend (28 to 29 period). We apparently GOT 'technical advice/assistance' from the chinese for FREE as part of the placing deal.

SOLG Management team are small and inexperienced when it comes to Tier 1 mining projects. I think we've seen how they got on over the last 2 years+!

So here we are with 'experts' like G-mining and Chinese advising on technicals.

We need to get back to 20p just to be aligned with them and we are way way better than them in asset, derisk stage and regional folio... not to mention funding.

We should be 50% ahead of Solaris at the very least (30p SOLG).

I was using the RNS issued by the company.

"Pit 1 drilling is expected to be completed in early August"

"Assay turnaround expected by mid to late August"

And "Samples from 5 more holes have been shipped out for assaying"

So my guess is they are getting the assays turned around within 2 to 3 weeks from completion which is quite quick.

The 5 holes shipped out went off last week I believe.

I think you'll hear news on them pretty soon and before Exploco (South).

The shorter hasn't closed out yet (or hasn't notified the market tut tut) so will be interesting to see if they buy back stock on the pull backs. If they don't, then they may well find the new trading range is 10p to 13p levels. A decent 30% swing in that channel and ideal for quite a few players to play around with. Should next batch of Tandy holes be good or better than the first 3, then I reckon we are into next channel up which would be 13p to 16.5p. Similar 30% swing platform. At sub 10p, it's too easy to make on the upside as 50%+ ops. But down side to 7p looks long gone based on news events and progress plans for next 12 months.

Valued at twice as much as SOLG by the canadians at £620m market cap.

Warintza asset in Ecuador looks tiny compared to SOLG's Alpala and about 3 years behind. They haven't even completed a PFS. That's due (apparently) in next few weeks so will be very interesting to see their numbers. It is mostly shallow and not block cave so key difference there. But lets see how they price it and what numbers they use on metals amongst other things.

I think Chile is 46.5% and that's for an established mining sector. 50% for Ecuador is only a minor increase on Chile and that's actually very generous for a country at early stage of mining. The more mining that happens, the greater the output and purce for Ecuador and as it becomes established the profit share drops a bit.. probably inline with Chile. All south american countries have to align or be relatively competitve otherwise miners just go else where.

Pbow, I don't think Franco would be too upset with SOLG using higher metal prices lol! It's in their interests. I think the canadian reference might have been related to the TSX rules but eitherway... for long term projects it's sensible to take a conservative view. However, where Tandy is concerned, that's not such long term and more near term and I think that's ripe for using some higher metal prices than currently used in redcloud. And it's open pit.

Just need a few more terrific holes from Tandy and that's going to seriously give the business a huge lift. And like you ... yes I am scatching my head on why oh why didn't they drill this 2 or 3 years ago?? Cost of drilling likely higher than $3.2m with 4th and 5th rig inclusions but come one... capex of say $4m and it delivers potentially transformational options on the key Tier1 mine. What numpty at SOLG said.. erm.. no lets not drill that, we have all what we need. Whoever it was need firing. Let me guess... Scotty boy!

NPV (pre tax) of GBP 4.4 bln is still pretty conservative based on those metal prices. $4 on copper is likely going end up as $6 by time we get to end of 2028. Possibly even $8! $2500 on gold again very conservative when you look at the G.Sachs targets of $3700 by end‑2025 and $4000 mid‑2026.

Good to see redcloud update albeit conservative. Just need Dan to get his presentations updated with similar or better metal prices and the mining conference season between Sept and Nov should go very well indeed. Tandy news to build in but can see why edcloud left that out to some extent as TSF objectives still not confirmed until Tandy all done and dusted.

One decent hole on Porvenir had the sp soaring to 42p+ some years ago. Granted, that was from a base of around 28p I believe.

If Tandy pit 1 or 2 hits a 'big one' this will rocket.

The engine is just getting warmed up. Yes it will need cooling down from time to time to get ready for the next push but the path is clearly upwards here based on the news events lined up.

We've only had 3 holes reported on Tandy pit 1. Another 15 to go. Would not surprise me if they got for more holes than planned should they hit anything above 0.9% at length.

The markets seem happy to price open pit resources much much higher than blockcave. And when your market cap is sub £300m... it's easy to see £100m+ added in a couple of days upon a great drill hole.

Just sit back and enjoy the next 3 to 4 weeks. Should be an exciting August and September. July certainly hasn't been a let down... but it is just the start of the recovery. Long way to go yet.

Covid is covid. But it's the market that has decided to price SOLG at covid levels and without a decent reason. But remember, there's plenty since those covid days that have doubled or tripled. Metal prices have soared... the list goes on. Yet little old SOLG stuck at sub 10p prior to today based on owning one of the largest Tier1 mine copper/gold discoveries in 15 years!

The market has some undoing to do and some proper valuation working to build in.

As history has proven, when SOLG gets the bit between the teeth.... it motors and really motors.

Strap yourselves in... there's weeks of news coming. We've only had 3 holes from Tandy. 5 more coming soon. Another 10 or more after that. Regionals spin out proposal due. 5 Major investor conferences and promotions due between September and Nov 25. Potential admission to MSCI index down the line.

Rebrand due.

If Tandy goes well and I mean very well... then this will be 20's and 30's with ease.

Why is 30p a big ask? THE FACTS below:

March 16th 2022, SOLG was 10p a share.

April 16th 2022, SOLG was 21.5p a share. (31 days)

April 29th 2022, SOLG was 30.65p a share. (13 days)

Pbow, I believe it was mainly based on market cap.

Not sure on what is the lowest entry level to MSCI right now as not looked for a while but they do regular shuffles throughout the year. I suspect with the way miners have performed (excluding SOLG) the entry cap will be fairly large. I'll take a look later.

Agree double digits is very significant. It falls into a different criteria of 'penny shares'... and some fund managers simply won't look at single digit penny stocks. That's not always the case, but I do think we'll see new fund managers enter they fray with the stock above 10p.

What we really need (and it's probably coming soon) is a re-entry into MSCI index. We were in it a couple of years ago but dropped out due to low market cap and sp fall.

Get back to 13p or 14p+ and it could see some major funds / index's buying in. And that would really get the sp moving back into the 20's.

We need II volume and based on last few days, volume has certainly been returning. Especially after TSX removal.

Eloro, time to move on. Lets not raise the pi55 poor management of the past again unless it becomes a comtemporary story again!

Time for fresh start and get back to good old SOLG exploration days.
