Slightly lighter note, it looks like US airline stocks are up slightly pre-market opening, hopefully that lifts IAG and other airline stocks.
Remember, a lot of US airlines use code share with BA so can directly impact sp.

I think globally shares would tumble if there is a 'skirmish', but the Ukraine thing is a distraction, Putin is massing troops in the Baltic region that is not being discussed at the moment.
Russia has nothing to lose, their economy is low, gas and oil are their main income, Germany does not want to impose gas related sanctions. If there is a 'war' that will be a disruptor for airlines. Having said that, the Syrian conflict did not have a major effect, so...?

b_b, it's the testing and isolation period that is the killer for the travel sector and as you say, until they have gone this will be a suppressed sector.
I've seen loads of people on various news outlets talking about how fearful they are about the UK's removal of tests as they are the vulnerable and may not be able to see friends. The news outlets really want to keep this masking and testing going for some reason.
How the frig did these vulnerable manage before testing? And surely that is THEIR problem, not society's in general?
Anyway, isolation and testing goes, this sector will move up, rapidly.

I'm not in the 5G 'must go' camp, as I am not convinced either way.
But why is it also that important to be on a phone whilst 38'000ft up in the air, not as if you can get the plane to turn around if you changed your mind.
Ban all phone signals on planes, problem solved. Then look at why 5G interferes with the avionics of a plane near an airport.
