IFBF 2021 July Symposium 7 - 9 July27 May 2021 09:19
Let’s network and talk flow batteries!
The preparations for COP26 to be held in Glasgow later this year are challenging – for nations, businesses and individuals. COP26 ‘s theme is #TheRacetoZero and now is the time for us to develop and promote the ways that we can join this race to preserve our planet. The EU wants to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030, the USA to reduce 52% by 2030 and China has pledged to be carbon neutral by 2060. The challenges are great, and it is important we continue to promote flow batteries as an enabling technology to support these ambitious, but achievable, targets. Flow batteries are now a proven technology for long duration electricity energy storage. There are many applications within the power sector’s infrastructure, both in front and behind the meter. Flow batteries are being deployed around the world, and at the IFBF July Symposium we want to hear, discuss their use and bring together users, industry, manufacturers, suppliers, and academics to discuss, meet, learn, and continue to raise the profile of flow batteries.
We are inviting you to register for our Symposium so you can take part in our discussions, showcasing flow battery progress, building the business and commercial case for flow batteries and reviewing international flow battery R&D programmes. Our discussions, in short sessions on each of the three days, will be broadcast live, and our facilitated networking will help you make contacts across our industry.
We have speakers from Cellcube, Kemiwatt, Largo Resources, VRB Energy, to give us up-to-date information on recently commissioned projects. We will hear about the latest developments from VisBlu and Elestor. Ed Porter of Invinity will share his insight on his clients’ requirements for high throughput energy storage that was non-flammable, recyclable and had a long life.
The Symposium is also welcoming members of the new Trade Association for flow batteries - Flow Batteries Europe - and in a joint session with them we’ll establish how flow battery manufacturers will respond to regulatory changes and the need to meet sustainability targets. Our look into the future includes a joint session with the FLORES project consortium – a grouping of 9 EU funded projects and opens up the opportunity to link industry with R&D.
