From the IOG RNS this morning, obviously different variables but pretty much your numbers :

Combined flow rates from Blythe and Elgood over 2H 2022 to date have averaged 28.6 mmscf/d, at a volume weighted average price of 258 p/therm.

I’m presuming our hedges are kicking in at the moment & being put to use?! 44p per therm if i’m correct…

Well one thing I don’t ever quite understand, where’s the broker notes, price target upgrades, commentary by institutions etc.. I’d of thought after our interims we’d be looking at being quite the talk, particularly knowing full year results with a stronger Q3 & (should be) Q4, gas prices up & hedges dropping off will be quite something, but there’s nothing so far. Now is that because we are an AIM company & many steer clear, or have no choice to steer clear?? .. would being on the Main Market give us an instant boost & upgrade? quite possibly… all I see is our share price being constantly controlled by the automated trades, we get momentum & in come a volley of tiny trades taking us back or holding us…. would this change? possibly (i’d hope) on that note we need to get above & hold 385p to move higher.. I also appreciate holders who want to keep it as it is for their own IHT reasons….

Could it be this Nordstream 1 & 2 incident, i’ve been following it & apparently 3 confirmed explosions on the seismic recorded, seems some real concerns regards how easy it is to target other undersea connecting pipes ie UK to europe…

On today’s presentation with Q&A’s, I thought it was pretty good really, those placements of cash against hedging answer a lot of questions really, the sooner they unwind the better.. I do think they are working hard on the M&A front, interesting that MF hoped several had taken place, production would be up when asked where will Serica be in 12 months time…

Listening to how so much cash is needed to be placed in relation to hedges, over £300m at times, where would we be if Kistos used all our money to try to buy us.. I appreciate those levels of placement will lower as the hedges unwind…. Interesting & different styles of management…

Germany investigates leaks in Nord Stream gas pipelines from Russia.

The authorities are trying to determine the cause of leaks in two gas pipelines running from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea after both experienced a sudden drop in pressure, German and Danish officials say.

Neither of the pipelines, Nord Stream 1 and 2, had been active, but both were filled with natural gas when they experienced a sharp drop in pressure on Monday, which the authorities said could only be caused by a leak.

“There must be large holes; otherwise pressure would not fall so quickly,” Fiete Wulff, a spokesman for Germany’s network agency, said on Tuesday. “There is no other way to explain it.”

The pipelines have been a focal point of the broader confrontation between Russia and Europe. After the European Union imposed economic sanctions on Russia to penalize it for invading Ukraine, Russia began withholding the natural gas that for decades it had abundantly sent to Europe, threatening its energy supply as winter looms.

Interim RNS, solid set of results, interim dividend upped from the suggested 6p to 8p, cash balance included to near as possible to date, Newkotb’s figures pretty spot on (with tax adjustments/paid dividend etc).

Outlook

· Serica's North Sea investment programme continues with results from its North Eigg exploration well due in December and further BKR well campaigns planned for 2023.

· Full year 2022 production guidance narrowed to 26,000-28,000 boepd.

· Gas price outlook likely to stay volatile but unhedged proportion of sales to increase as remaining hedges expire.

· Combined cash of £482.4 million at 23 September 2022
o cash and deposits of £282.6 million after Q3 settlement of £66.0 million tax instalment and £24.5 million dividend payment
o plus £199.8 million lodged as hedge security having exceeded £300 million in recent months
o though potentially volatile in the short term, hedge security to reduce over the rest of 2022 as remaining gas price hedges expire.


· The Board is announcing its first interim dividend at a rate of 8 pence per share payable on 25 November 2022 to shareholders registered on 28 October 2022 with an ex-dividend date of 27 October 2022.

· The potential for further distributions to shareholders, including share buybacks, will be kept under review as the Company continues to pursue M&A opportunities.

You’re right regards no set dates etc however it was a drill or drop final decision that had to be made by the end of September, which had had an extension put on it due to Covid, so it wouldn’t of taken much for Serica to push the PR a little…. I appreciate it’s not their style, but every little helps so to speak…
