Property I'm no fun of Starmer, but the US are the most protectionist country on the planet, what with Biden's Inflation Reduction Act and Trump telling other countries what they can and can't do and threatening tariff's. I liked Trump, but talking about taking over the Panama Canal and Greenland, saying Canada should become part of the US, encouraging Egypt and Jordon to take the population of Gaza off Israel's hands and describing Gaza in beach side real estate terms suggests he's losing it.

I don't think attempting to destroy the Palestinian identity by encouraging a form of ethnic cleansing will lead to peace in the Middle East, the Jewish identity remained intact for thousands of years. Doing the wrong thing will always come back to bite you in the end, it's just a matter of when not if.

The US has made a lot of money from being the World's reserve currency since WW2, if the World decides the US is just taking all the time and giving little back, it'll eventually turn its back on the US.

But will it improve BTC mining by 30% at all difficulty levels? QBT would have to release a mountain of information to prove their claim, instead of a one size fits all statement. A 30% improvement on one ASIC is still less efficient than 2 ASICS without Oracle and mining rig manufacturers have probably already designed the rigs based on the type of ASIC's to serve them over the next 4 years until the next halving; And miners have already probably ordered, or installed, the rigs to serve them over the next 4 years. There are lots of variables and unknowns when it comes to Crypto mining, even if QBT are correct there's no guarantee their modifications will make it onto the next generation of ASIC's. The easiest way to make better mining rigs is to scale down the nm spacing on the chips and add more ASICs to each rig, a 30% improvement wouldn't be groundbreaking as some suggest, just my opinion.

The volumes might be higher at the moment, but watch what happens without a steady rlease off positive updates.

I always find QBT's updates to be open to interpretation. The two recent PRN's and associated video's must have been to pump the price with them knowing they were going to do a placement. The first PRN and video didn't work so 2 days later they put out another PRN, with the 2nd PRN massively boosting the volumes allowing them to increase the price on the placement. It also stands to reason that the only way large holders can dump stock is when buying volumes are high, so some will have profited from the recent high volumes and hikes in the price. I don't expect the price to stay above 1p for very long once volumes drop back to more normal levels. Well done to the posters who predicted a placement on the back of the recent company updates, their reading of the situation was 100% spot on.

In my opinion QBT's claims should be viewed with a healthy dose of scepticism, as to whether their various methods will ever make it to commercialisation.

Interesting article which underlines what I've said in the past, this prticular section caught my eye:

I used the term "rock bottom" loosely Dan, the point I was making is that Vodafone have to cover €7.767 Billion Hybrid Bonds over the next 6 years. If I'm understanding it correctly, the cheaper that Vodafone can buyback stock the cheaper it is to cover the Hybrid Bonds with treasury stock. If I'm misunderstanding this I'll happily be corrected.

On the plus side Vodafone is buying back stock at rock bottom prices. I expect much of the buybacks will be used to cover hybrid bonds as they come due.

The sum of the Hybrid bonds up to 2031 comes to €7,767,343,160, so the cheaper they can buyback stock the easier it is to cover the bonds.

I like Trump, but these policies would be pure lunacy. Of course the people pushing this aren't lunatics, they're pumping their own book at the expense of the US tax payer.

The only reason the Bitcoin brigade don't like CBDC's is because they're a threat to unbacked decentralised tokens like Bitcoin. If these policies come to pass, it'll prove that the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

There's a case for CBDC's and commodity backed tokens, there's no financial case for Bitcoin.

Nope, I have no emotional attachment associated with QBT. As much as I'm interested in the madness around BTC trading, I'm also interested to see where the QBT journey leads. I'm not and will never bye Bitcoin, or invest in QBT, but I do enjoy watching the show.

Lee the big shareholder you list hold shares on behalf of retail investors, I hold lots of shares in various stocks and not one of them is in my name. You need to look up the meaning of Nominee account.

It's just common sense, if the big players were interested in QBT they'd just buy the company out of their petty cash. A £20 Million market cap company is so small they could take it over and not miss the money, why would they bother trading such a tiny company?

To speak the truth

Anyone who believes that Market makers, hedge funds, or any big players are interested in QBT are deluding themselves. QBT has a small market cap and thin volumes in the absence of pumping PRN's. Anyone holding large amounts would struggle to sell their holdings under normal trading conditions. In my opinion the only ones interested in QBT are retail who are betting on the company achieving their advertised goals. In the absence of any news the volumes will likely drop off and the price will drift lower.

It makes perfect sense that the US treasury should buy a manufactured intrinsically worthless digital "asset", to help out their rich mates who're heavily betting on an ever rising Bitcoin price. I would hope other central banks would refuse to take Bitcoin from the US Government in payment for anything, since the only value locked up in Bitcoin is the hype that pumps the price up to ridiculous levels.

If you assume the final dividend will be the same, you get a yield of 5.6% yield over a full year if you bought at 68.1p
