The article doesn't say BT will own the internet, what it's saying is that Government and business can choose to keep all data transfers and processing off the World Wide Web. I imagine there'll be many use cases where data security is paramount and customers will want to keep the data within a closed system. We've all watched films where a hacker takes control of cars, if the cars control systems are managed within closed systems then such things would be far more difficult without access to the associated servers. BT aren't alone in offering this sort of service, the article also mentions Vodafone.

He doesn't look happy in that video, possibly because QBT's business model is starting to wane. As pointed out by someone in another thread, the PRN/Video releases are no longer pumping the price. For long term QBT holders, it must feel like being stuck in a never ending hallway where the exit is always out of reach.
