"The current price movement in BTC is near textbook, exactly what we need to see , legs up then consolidating just below the next important technical level "
I'm not sure anything can be described as textbook in relation to BTC's price action, with many hodlers caught with their pants down, legs up and receiving a good Rogering.
The profitability of miners is proportional to the cost of Equipment, Electricity and the Bitcoin reward for mining. Electricity prices have steadily increased since the last halving and the Bitcoin reward will halve in 2024, so any miners without the ability to generate their own electricity will be at the mercy of the Grid price. Any capital invested in new more efficient rigs will have to be offset against any bottom line profit from operations. Many on grid miners wont hold the Bitcoin they mine, as they'll be under pressure to recover costs asap to cover operations and the ones who generate their own electricity will be pressured to sell if the BTC price starts to fall.
The price rises, following the May 2020 halving, was exceptional in my opinion; Institutional investors, like MicroStrategy, started bulk buying Bitcoin leading to momentum driven rises peaking in November 2021; Basically the hype machine went full throttle and many small investors bought in with varying Satoshi purchases, lifting the price from the bottom up, in addition to some of the "Whales" buying big.
The collapse, since Nov 2021, has burned many large and small investors, with many probably holding until they can exit the asset. Things like the collapse of the exchanges, and the various Altcoins going to zero, will also likely have destroyed confidence for many of the all in enthusiasts, who really believed, no doubt they'll now be the most vocal detractors; I'm not in that camp, I've never invested in anything Crypto related assets.
The headwinds will probably see Bitcoin struggling to climb from here, with the possibility of another freefall event should the Whales start selling.
