View: A solid quarter from Goldplat despite the ongoing electricity issues in South Africa. The receipt of material from Côte d’Ivoire is very encouraging and points to the possibility that administrative issues over import and export can be solved for other West African countries and that access becomes available for considerable wastes we expect to be laying around in these countries. We see fair value in Goldplat at 18.1p/sh based on undemanding 3.5x FY24 EV/EBITDA now that we see an end in sight to issues in South Africa and the beginning of the flow of material from West Africa into Ghana. We note that our numbers do not yet include any contribution from the reprocessing of the TSF, and we will include this eventuality in our numbers once there is a better understanding of timing and revenue share for the project.

• Bloomberg reports that three firms, Ganfeng, Tianqi and Ningde Era are investing $250m in a Nigerian lithium processing plant.

• However, these companies supposedly have nothing to do with their dopplegangers listed on Shenzhen and HK. We are not so sure.

• A ceremony was held on 12th October for the start of construction of the facility, which plans to refine 18kt/day of lithium ore.

• Ningde Era is apparently the literal translation of the Chinese characters CATL to English.

• Nigeria is in its infancy for lithium exploration, with geolists seeing the Southern region as bearing similarities to the pegmatite fields of Brazil, where Sigma have begun production.

• Orosur recently announced its intention to3 begin lithium exploration in Nigeria.

• The Company has signed an exploration JV with a Nigerian company Jurassic Mines.

• Orosur holds the right to earn up to 70% equity in the Project via two phases:

o Phase 1 – the Orosur subsidiary can earn 51% equity via a $3m spend over three years

o Phase 2 – An additional $2m investment will take the Orosur ownership to 70% equity.
