Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Great news. Should set us up nicely for the Vast JV announcement! Revenue and 2p+ soon, EDC wouldn’t go to all of that effort unless it was worth their while!
You’ve hit the nail on the head there Sandy. Amusingly I actually dipped my toe back in here today when I saw the price had dropped to 0.35 due to lack of news, so it is just my luck that we get a crappy RNS this afternoon! I think we should give AP a bit of a break on this one as the minister for mines and acting ceo all gave the impression we would be signed by now. If we do sign then people buying at these levels should make some decent gains. Good luck all!
Looks like he could do with a holiday in Zimbabwe!
I am really looking forward to a decent rise here... With the Katanga and ZCDC contract signed, BOD and Vast will soon be free to finalise BOD's entry as a minor shareholder in Katanga and talk about their exploration plans for the next 6 months to define where to drill/sample. The lack of news is down to prudence in my humble opinion, as it is far easier for Vast to sort a deal out with ZCDC first which BOD can then examine in detail before deciding if it is in the interest of shareholders to enter in to, particularly with ZCDC now having a large share of the proceeds.
But let's not forget the company's own projects!
- Thorny River has been modelled to contain 1.2-2 million tonnes of kimberlite with a diamond grade ranging from 36-74 ct/ht and diamond values in the range of $120 - $220. If bulk sampling proves successful, BOD will have a sufficient resource defined for a bankable feasibility study, which would enable BOD to finance development through to a large scale commercial mine.
- Thorny River also has 5 kimberlite pipe targets which are currently being explored by Subterrane. If a high grade pipe is discovered and drilled then we could potentially be sitting on another Marsfontein, where 1.8m carats were pulled out of the mine.
- We should hopefully be granted a mining permit and commence royalty mining before Christmas
2.5p+ should be achievable next 6 months given the above, if not the next 6 weeks depending upon news!
Yep, the price has risen very fast on no news, so when an RNS does land we should go higher given the large buys and buying pressure. I can't blame you for wanting to take some profits though, good luck to you!
Well this is a bulletin board so people do tend to express a range of opinions. I can't see Vast collapsing any time soon as they will be fully funded with two projects on the go, but watching Vast drop down to 0.11p was pretty hard on everyone who had money in there so lets keep things friendly and civil. As for BOD, if they do agree a partnership with Vast then it might not necessarily be the same week as the diamond concession RNS since JC is busy at Thorny River, but I would expect he will want to be over in Zimbabwe shortly if things are to go ahead. Hopefully the Marsfontein mining license should land soon too.
Indeed Kingsley! I figure that after a 500% rise some peeps might want to top slice and put some money elsewhere. I am honestly around 75% certain that James Cambell will be back in Zimbabwe in the next few weeks helping Vast to get started on exploration. If a JV with Katanga gets announced then we can all celebrate as it will be a fantastic team! Well done to everyone who made some money back / profits here. Good luck!
100-200% rise is doable over at Botswana Diamonds once you lot realise that their JV agreement and 13% share of the now enlarged concession area is still on the cards!
JC was involved in exploration and was working with Vast in April to plan the next phase. IMO they have simply been quiet because of the NDA and I fully expect BOD will be joining the Katanga party once the the final terms have been agreed.

I somehow don't think he has roped the Minister of Mines in Zimbabwe into his scheme but I understand your concerns about Vast!
The way I see it, BOD is a solid company and with the two revenue generating mining contracts recently signed on Marsfonftein / Thorny River, Subterrane surveying 5 potential kimberlite pipe targets ready for drilling, a potential JV with a large diamond company over at Sunland Minerals and Maibwe potentially becoming unstuck. In this context, Marange really is a bonus. If I am wrong then we might retrace a bit and then recover on genuine RNS releases from BDO. If I am right then we will bag several times from here so it is a case of gauging the opportunity cost of selling up. Plus I expect with an official mining permit for Thorny River / Marsonftein we will be up towards 2p anyway. We've moved very quickly up on no news so I expect when the revenue and licenses come in we will be up even further.
I also forgot that JC was probably involved in helping a lot with the technical work required to secure the license in the first place and he was definitely helping out in April/May this year. I can't see a logical reason why Vast would renege completely on their agreement and the silence could be down to an NDA whilst Vast negotiates terms with ZCDC. JC is tweeting about Vast a lot so they are obviously still on good terms and I suspect if the agreement was scrapped then he wouldn't keep mentioning Vast. Judging by the sp the market seems to think this might be the case!
Whilst a JV contract might not be signed yet and the company is potentially NDA silent on Marange, I think it might be helpful to remember how closely BOD worked with Vast. The first 6 months is all about exploration and BOD are the experts. It is quite possible that once the JV with ZCDC is signed BOD might end up joining the joint venture for a share of Katanga. I imagine that James Campbell would have been originally involved with a lot of the technical preliminary work required to secure a license earlier this year and he was definitely helping Vast around April/May time as he mentioned this in another interview.
Here's the Botswana Diamonds MD talking previously about how exciting the Marange concession is anyway:

It will be interesting to see if profits from Vast end up in here on signing.
Wohoo! I've already bagged from the 50's but expecting 2-3 x more if we end up helping Vast with Marange. RNS on Thorny / Marsfontein could land at any point too.
Just quoted 1.10 to sell 3k!
Up we go! Once the next RNS lands we might not see sub-1p again. I have a feeling people might put some profits from Vast in here on the potential that the JV for Marange might go ahead as previously RNS'd. BOD might be under an NDA atm or waiting to see the final deal before deciding to go ahead or not, which is reasonable given the risk of operating in Zimbabwe. We may even get a surprise RNS about drill targets for Thorny once Subterrane have done their ground truthing.
Large buyer in the background? Looks like MM’s are wanting shares
I am increasingly impressed by the creativity of our MD

Just had a cheeky top up, sold some Vast to buy in here. Subterrane are over at Thorny River this month looking at those 5 kimberlite targets. Bring on the news!
wow, what a nice start to the week! I’m curious to see what the sp could do if we really caught the attention of the herd. Not long to wait now hopefully!
To be expected, we are at a 52 week high and some have nearly bagged already. A lot more to come though IMO.
I think we should bag from here. Marsfontein gravels and Thorny river bulk sampling will give us free revenue, if a kimberlite pipe is discovered at Thorny River we rocket, if Maibwe gets unstuck we rocket and if we have a JV with Vast or a huge player at Sunland we should bag on news too. Nothing nailed on but lots of irons in the fire. The best bit is that BOD has an excellent risk-management strategy which effectively reduces dilution, provides exposure to a lot of upside and means we have very little debt on the books. We might even turn a nice profit in the next 12 months on Marsfontein gravels and Thorny River sampling! Good luck everyone :)
