Young promising foreign players will always find Celtic an attractive proposition as European Football is guaranteed. The SPL has also proved to be an excellent stepping stone to the Premiership which is why the death of Celtic's only rivals leaves us as the only side with any prospect of providing that platform. Here we go for 10 in a row!
I'm sorry but you're overlooking the historical facts. Crowds of 55k+ were the exception and crowds averaging 40-45k are the norm. Claims of 32k are way off the mark, I've attended every home league game and can only think of one where the crowd looked less than 40k (the Dundee match where concession ST were not available. The current boards strategy is to invest in young promising talent using one of the best scouting set ups in the UK. It has yielded a profit in Ki and will undoubtedly yield a significant profit in the case of Wanyama and Hooper. I would be more concerned if the only financial driver of a football club was ST money as that will always have a ceiling. For us the core support will remain steady at 40k plus, the boards strategy will attempt to fill the void left by the 10k or so who have decided not to renew over the past 5 seasons.
Here are some basic facts for you. Celtic have sold somewhere in the region of 39k season tickets at an average cost of £400. Sevco have sold 38k at an average cost of £200. Do you see what I'm getting at here. The average league attendances this season are almost identical, the startling difference is in the income this generates for either club. When Celtic fill their 60k seater on CL nights (which they'll have a crack at for the next 5 seasons minimum) then they income goes through the roof I don't remember attendances being a hot topic when Celtic Park regularly had 10k more supporters attending each week, nor do I recall supporters of the now deceased Rangers FC complaining about the paltry 28k that turned up for their last ever Champions League match against Malmo. 40k has historically been the average for Celtic, for the dead Rangers it was much the same. In years to come Celtic will still average 40k and for the next couple of seasons Scotland's newest club will enjoy similar attendances (though significantly less income). For it's a grand OLD team to play for!!!
The lack of competition in the SPL hasn't had the detrimental effect many predicted, indeed the balance sheet goes from strength to strength. Looking ahead it would appear that we are guaranteed a crack at CL football for the next 3 seasons and given the financial results released by Scotland's newest club yesterday it looks as though that dominance could continue for several years after that. A European league can't be ruled out, but I'd imagine that would sometime in the next decade so for now domestic dominance and CL consolidation will be the financial drivers
Tonight brings an end to the Champions League run, but the financial compensation far outweighs the disappointment of defeat. It's remarkable to think that £15m minimum is guaranteed each season. It's such a shame that Glasgow's 2nd club died last year. :;())))))))))))))
Welcome back, your timing is impeccable. Interim report just in, turnover UP by 71%, net debt DOWN by £7m to 0.13m, and wait for it...... Champions League points and media income not included, with a last 16 money spinner still to come. I thought you would find it hard to embarrass yourself further, but you've only gone and done it. Good luck with your investment in Scotland's newest clubs holding company and that looming winding up order. Lol, lol, lol, pmsl!!!!!!!!!!!
Up the volume....... could today be the day?
Thanks for your thoughts. Your concerns are valid, but at this stage I believe funding is not an issue and that substantial SP gains can be made prior to any further dilution. Should dilution come along I believe it will follow positive news and given the small number of shares in issue I don't see it having a big impact. Time will tell. GL with your investments.
What are your concerns? An alternative view is always welcome but it helps if you're specific.
Board restructure. Praetorian flexing some muscle by the looks of it. 3 men now on the Board and looking to significantly reduce costs. Good sign going forward?
Happy to wait this one out. The political situation has improved considerably which will hopefully restore confidence. The frustrating thing is that the conflict has never been close to AME's facilities but it doesn't take much to spook investors these days. Good volume should double the price, great volume will push it back into double figs (IMO)
Don't even have the bottle to tell the truth about your footballing allegiances Bobby boy. Denying your love for Triggers Broom FC, how would your fellow Sevcovians feel about your denial? Good luck with your investment in the Kinning Park Stealers, you'll need it wee man.
If you don't undertand the basic business model here then you really should consider pulling out of stocks altogether. You've already made a fool of yourself on this board and continue to contradict yourself on others. Enjoy the 4th tier and your new kit deal with Macron.... LOL!!!!!
I'm still here and looking forward to some exciting times ahead. So few shares in issue that any significant volume should project this northwards, and fast! Put my last remaining funds into WRES over the past 2 weeks, very promising tungsten play. Wish I had more to plough in here though.
Great piece of business...were it true.....but it ain't.
Anybody heard from Bobsbargains? Someone should let him know that his concerns about that £7.2m of debt appear to have been misplaced ;)
Again today. New multi million £ shirt sponsorship deal to be announced this afternoon, rumours to be Magners. Could be the catalyst for the further rise.
What a simplistic way of looking at things. GL with your investments, you may need it.
Certainly undervalued when you look at the MC of the new Rangers International. In truth I think it's more of a massive over valuation there than an under valuation here. Certainly going forward the income from player sales and CL particupation should see a consolidation at or slightly above this level.
Good to speak to you again, it's been a long time, in fact the days of Rift and old Ore seem light years from the markets we face now. I like the look of this one but continue to be frustrated by the lack of interest. Some good PR wouldn't go a miss. Have taken a small position in WRES at 0.34 which I hope to double. ORE could present a similar opportunity at the current price, will have a closer look. Cheers
