I find it immensely sad that the younger generation need to rely on this nonsense and taking the ONE answer rather than the smart way of taking information from different sources .

It’s not a criticism of people using it, it’s just an observation, that will stop people using their own, normally, very limited intelligence.

Senator, at the end of the day, you must understand that this is an investor forum, and not Goldman Sachs ‘traders are us blog’

What is trying to be established is that the holder of the stake has given Barclays instruction to hedge away a portion of that stake. The wider held view is this is seen as a positive in the short term, because B and M business will improve and that stake can be recalled.

Is that roughly a reasonable assessment, or cant that assessment be made because the exact nature of the derivatives are not known, and only known by the client in question, and therefore there is nothing to be gained by the RNS statement, other than the usual rows, which seem so commonplace now a days.

Thanks for clarification on the strategy Orange. Barclays with their positioning are clearly following direction from B and M that the business needs 18 months or so to turn around, so Barclays are just playing the longer game.

Not sure if there are implications regarding business rates on units over £500k. Personally, I think what Orange was commenting on regarding the short squeeze added some weight here. It appears the downward pressure has subsided.

Adding to that the positive of Blackrock taking a stake, what’s not to like in the run up to the January update.

If Labour are serious about 300k houses built a year, they need to offer incentives. It’s basic economics. The government are losing a potential fortune on stamp duty and sub contractor taxes.

The ideologists who want all the builders to build the houses for reduced margin, are fantasists. Reeves needed to come to the centre ground on this, the leftie housing policy is not working.

Investors are seriously complacent here, and as Murphy states the Chancellor is not experienced enough to deal with any downside scenarios.

Buffett as you mentioned went a bit defensive with selling Apple and buying UnitedHealth care. Investors have of course different opinions.

Cosmo, you have a Fonzie type character from Nvidia knocking out a large amount of chips, he is of course doing well.

The businesses who are buying the chips are not seeing the growth in their businesses. The issue is how long will the market wait for these earnings to filter through. Some analysts are talking Q3, 2026, to see a correction.

I’m with the entrepreneurs and businessmen who have left the country, we are constrained to invest at present, and if anyone here thinks all is rosy, they are deeply complacent or actually ill informed.

My view most shareholders here are complacent. I’m not saying a 20% correction is coming, I’m saying 20% is a blood bath. The small chump change movement down this week is nothing, if investors actually did some research on global markets, they would know that AI debt is now a significant factor, once the big boys get bored with the AI story, and waiting years for returns, who knows where the bottom will pan out.

The ftse is a trading venue, investors, please spare me the posts, once the US decide to sell the markets the yocals here will be too late, it will have arrived.

Lgen deep dives and 2% a year dividend growth, will mean,er nothing.
