What role do you see CEZ playing in the success or other of the cinovec project ?
CEZ is a major Czech utility company that has expressed interest in investing in the Cinovec project. In 2020, CEZ signed a memorandum of understanding with European Metals Holdings (EMH), the company developing the Cinovec project, to evaluate potential cooperation and investment in the project. As part of the memorandum, CEZ agreed to support EMH's efforts to secure project financing, regulatory approvals, and offtake agreements for the lithium and tin products that would be produced by the project.
CEZ's involvement in the project could play a significant role in its success. CEZ's experience in project financing and its connections within the Czech energy and mining sectors could help EMH secure the necessary investment and regulatory approvals for the project. CEZ's interest in the project also reflects the growing importance of lithium and other battery metals in the transition to a low-carbon economy, which could provide a strong market for the products produced by the Cinovec project.
At the same time, CEZ's involvement in the project does not guarantee its success. The Cinovec project still faces significant technical and financial challenges, and the success of the project will depend on a variety of factors, including the global market for lithium, the regulatory environment in the Czech Republic, and the ability of EMH to secure financing and offtake agreements. Nonetheless, CEZ's interest in the project is a positive sign for its potential success, and the company's involvement could provide valuable support to EMH as the project moves forward.

Has there been any further developement of whom the offtakes could be ?
European Metals Holdings (EMH), the company developing the Cinovec project, has been actively seeking offtake agreements for the lithium and tin products that would be produced by the project. In August 2021, EMH announced that it had signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with German lithium-ion battery manufacturer BASF SE to negotiate a potential offtake agreement for the lithium hydroxide that would be produced by the project. The memorandum of understanding outlines the terms of a potential supply agreement, including the volume of lithium hydroxide that BASF would purchase and the pricing mechanisms that would be used.
In addition to the memorandum of understanding with BASF, EMH has previously signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean steelmaker POSCO to negotiate a potential offtake agreement for the tin and lithium products that would be produced by the project. EMH has also reported that it is in discussions with other potential offtake partners in Europe and Asia.
While these negotiations are positive signs for the potential success of the Cinovec project, it is important to note that they are non-binding and that actual offtake agreements will depend on
