IJT, I only worked on the Douglas project then followed it to the Irish Sea. Never heard of the Seadragon. I worked for the owner of the Douglas not the shipyard. I also worked on the accommodation section in Port Glasgow.
HPB, if you are inferring I had a post of yours(which I have not seen) removed then you are barking up the wrong tree. I m not in the business of having posts removed because sometimes it shows the poster to be lacking integrity and moral fibre,
Could it be that one of the unfortunate monkey's ancestors you honourable people hung all wet and bedraggled after swimming ashore, is posting on here and has called you out.
BRV, it is interesting to hear about your Grandfather running a pub in Middlesborough. Three of my fathers cousins possibly around that time were members of the Middlesborough City Police, the Mathews brothers. When on duty they were the ones called upon to sort out the weekend troublemakers in what I am sure I and your grandfather would call the common sense way that is before the police were emasculated as of today.
Re. BPC, I made a bob or two on the ups and downs and attended what was the last SH presentation in London about ten years or more ago where Ben Proffit assured me I would be driving around in a Bentley soon. I removed a portion of my shares in BPC before the spud which served to soften the blow so it only cost me a few grand in the long run.
Maybe you can see where my caution is based in PRD with the missed timelines, lack of communications etc. But I am still taking the risk of holding a substantial amount of shares . I did make a few quid and added shares during the 20p blip.
There is some mischief taking place on this BB and I do not mean from the so called trolls.
HPB not sure what you are on about, bit early to be on the sauce what.
I spent quite an enjoyable time in Hartlepool working on the production platform of the Douglas project. Cannot remember the B&B's I stayed in but I used to go to a pub up the road on quiz night.
At the Marina there, it was amazing to see how the legend of the monkey you guys hung as a spy during the Napoleonic wars has been capitalised upon. However reading your last post it seems the rush to judgement has not changed much.
Good morning BRV.
"I look forward to you sharing information on your own personal background and experience. (I expect this won’t be forthcoming.)"
I am surprised you would say the above because I like you have in fact given details of my oil industry career in the past.
I will however give you a brief summary.
1976-80 Onshore in Saudi working along side but not involved in testing services. My work was servicing the rig and providing electrical power to the testing and other services crews when needed.
1980-88 Involved in offshore rig construction and acceptance trials at Far East Levingston Singapore, then as a crew member in Saudi again working with all sections of well operation services but responsible for rig electrical operations.
1988-94 Took a break from the oilfield and bought the tenancy of a John Smiths pub which I developed into a very successful business(TO £250000 and when the ill fated beer order( government interfering in things they know nothing about) came about during this time I went to the North Sea to get together the money to buy the pub outright which in the end was not forthcoming so I sold the tenancy and stayed in the North Sea.
1994-96 Worked in production on the Douglas Project with BHP but did not like this side of the business so left and went back to drilling again.
1996-2006 Saudi then Qatar offshore as Barge Master responsible for Engineering, Logistics and marine operations.
2006- 20007 Construction of 5th generation offshore jackup rigs at the Dalian shipyards in China.
2007-2011 Barge Master on offshore rigs same company various rigs in China, Singapore(construction). Vietnam.
2011 Retired
Halfway through 2011 asked if I would, with my family return to carry out and supervise the 5 year topsides and underwater surveys on two of the rigs I had worked on. Responsible for contractual affairs and a budget of around
US$ 10,000,000. Based in Dubai, office in the free zone at the airport.
2014 retired at the age of 70 or good.
This is just a short rendition my time in the oil industry.
" having therefore been involved in Paul’s companies for the best part of a decade, why I’m confident in his management strategy. He’s admitted himself that he doesn’t get everything right (no one does) but, IMO, he has many attributes of an excellent manager including (but not limited to) being an ‘owner operator’, an independent thinker, candid and open with his shareholders."
I think the same attributes were aimed at Mr Potter of BPC at one time. I truly hope PG does not follow the same path.
Being associated with the lifestyle company CEG does not sit well with me that is why I urge caution.
ITM, do you mean the jam tomorrow brigade, of which group I imagine you are a member , yes with your head buried in the sticky mud I can imagine you have missed them.
Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground old chap and analyse the facts not the fantasy. No doubt you will have heard of the kings wonderful clothes, well until PRD pull their fingers out and give us some results this is all that is being sold. I bet you would look a bobby dazzler in a suite like that. 🤣🤩
Zebra 4 it is nice to read a posting that says it as it is and not a jam tomorrow epistle from the Prophet and his followers.
I have tried to post along these lines for some time now but get my posts removed.
My renditions are probably not as subtle though.
