The board confirmed that Chaoda has an approximately 13% shareholding in Asian Citrus and Fujian Chaoda Group and its subsidiaries have been suppliers of organic fertilizer to Asian Citrus for a number of years on arm's length terms. Good point that in a relatively weak market Asian Citrus' price is relatively stable. Current share owners like us need the market to recover. Then we will be able to smile -- and it will be a big smile. Keep the faith!

"Asian Citrus Shines" is the headline in this week's Investors Chronicle as it analyses the year's results. Reckons that the fall in the share price is down to investors pulling out of emerging markets. However, IC repeats the previous buy advice. It is not covered in Shares magazine. Probably next week.

Yes, what's going on? My guess is that it's general market weakness, small stocks are out of favour, and there's stll a lingering suspicion over the accuracy of accounting procedures in China. But as a medium and long term bet this share, apart from the oil discoverers, is brilliant. I spotted it about 3 years ago. Let's see what Shares and Investors Chronicle say this week. Both magazines have been tipping Asian Citrus for great things for some time now.

I checked out the link and it turns out that JMFinn Global Opportunities Fund has 2.05% of uits fund in Lonrho. It also says that fund manager, Anthony Eaton, " looks at the big picture and adopts a simple investment philosophy: focus on the companies that supply the needs of the global economy and benefit the most from the enduring consequences of globalisation." In that case, we're all singing from the same hymn sheet.

Some big share buys in the last day or two -- I wonder whether these are institutional buyers like Mark Slater topping up while the share price is down. One thing is for sure, I'm hanging on to mine.

Another endorsement for Photo-Me in this week's Investors Chronicle -- put simply, the company does not have to go cap in hand to the banks to get money to fund growth because it has so much cash. Not a bad argument as long as the money is spent wisely.

Still dropping slightly over the last few days -- but assuming the market doesn't head south then with results out next month Asian Citrus will move upwards. But I think the big players will wait until then, so my guess is small-ish price movements up or down in the meantime.

As I have said previously the time to sell is when people, both in the West and the Far East (who are only just developing the habit) stop drinking orange juice.

Shares Magazine out today has a full page article on Asian Citrus. It says that the company is a "compelling growth story". It also notes that results are due next month and the share is due for a significant re-rating, especially as Chinese citizens buy into the message of healthy eating put out by the Government. Note the recent buys by two directors at a higher price than today's. Fill your boots, I say. You will regret it if you don't.

Some significant buys this morning reflecting the news from across the Atlantic.If I had the money I would be topping up. Alas, I have to go on holiday so no disposable income available.

Big sell offs yesterday. How much of that is the market, and how much of that is to do with Lonrho is interesting question. I still think this is a good buy if one takes a medium and long-term view. For so long, Africa was written off as a basket case, but not any more.

For those who are brave enough, the market downturn must surely present a buying opportunity for a company that produces a real product. When the people of the world stop drinking orange juice, that will be the time to sell.

Both this week's Shares and Investors Chronicle magazines recommend buying Photo-Me. Why? Lots of money in the bank for expansion and dividends, and the company is making inroads into connecting its technologies with social media like Facebook.

Well, a target figure of 90 is certainly plausible -- it's been as high as 88.75 in any case in the last year. Then pulled down by concerns about some Chinese companies' accounting methods. But this rise and fall has happened before. A very good short term buy and an excellent long-term hold. These people produce orange juice for Marks & Spencer amongst others, after all -- some of it organic!!
