I posted a couple of weeks ago that I was considering selling PYM at a loss and putting all the money into QPP but was hanging on to hear positive news about Cogane. Guess what, I wish I had!

Good reprimand oldtimer. Yes amb33 reminds me of the character in Dad's Army who at any moment of crisis, large or small, says, 'We're all doomed'.

I wouldn't worry too much about the share price drop – after the rise it was almost bound to happen without real news. But the big issue is whether Cogane is effective and what future trajectory it is likely to have. We shall soon find out. I am certainly hanging onto my shares in the hope that the news is positive.

I'm tempted to buy some more as there have been some big purchases today despite – or because of – the news flow adversely affecting the price. On the other hand, at least in the short term Mwana offers a better home for my money I reckon.

Scottish, It may be illegal, but news does leak out. As someone who has been monitoring Phytopharm for some years a succession of big buys or sells normally gives an indication of which way the share price is heading. Keep a look out!!!

Let us console ourselves with the fact that if the shares do go up and up and up we can all retire early – my choice is a beach house in Mauritius.

Should you sell? Good question, difficult to answer.I was going to sell my shares today and buy some QPP. But decided against it on the basis of the share price rise in PYM. So I am in the same boat as you are. All things being equal I would be inclined to hang on and take a gamble. It wasn't so long ago that the shares were a few pence higher than they are today. But don't hang onto them if you need the money for your electricity and gas bills!

Phytopharm has a long tradition of share purchases and a sharp increase in the share price before an announcement is made. Be cautious!

Never bad to sell if you make a profit – any profit. I'm sitting on a 30% loss at the moment. But remember these shares have been over £5 in the distant past. And they were mentioned in last week's Investors Chronicle as a biotech play. That said, I don't think there is anyway they are going to retrace past glories. But with a fair wind and successful outcomes for their drugs, a subsatntial rise is obviously possible. On the other hand, a decline is possible as well if it all goes pear-shaped.

I was just about to offload my long-held PYM shares in order to buy something else, but checking the price I notice an upward tick. I will hang on and see what happens.

Yes, jollyspeculator I completely agree that anything that stalls is dangerous. No stalling at Lonrho -- or Fastjet for that matter -- I hope.

Unlike Fastjet which seems to have stalled for the moment, Lonrho's share price has been ticking up nicely. The big story about Africa's growth potential beginning to dawn on people, or the institutions taking advantage of a depressed share price, or both?

Ticking upwards nicely. The 3-month price graph has an interesting pattern.

Watched the video. Fantastic. Even Michael O'Leary's Ryanair couldn't top that.
