Given the concentrated nature of other shareholders, and the fairly niche nature of this share, it may just be one buyer driving the hike, but hopefully the rise will draw back some other investors. Given low volumes it is difficult for institutions to build a meaningful stake without moving the Xch sp. I think this has some way to go and am looking for recovery at least back to 1.25 by the end of the month and closer to £1.70 before 6 months is out unless unexpected bad news pops out.

Agree with dollarz. It is pretty futile for a company of this size to try and bump up the stock in the short term with announcements, and only results in management chasing short term targets. Get the business right, do big deals and make money and the share price will take care of itself. Constant shareholder scrutiny is a distraction, so why invite so much of it. I can wait for some good news, when it comes hopefully it will be more than froth and sp will jump up.

From the telegraph: British Computer Society fellow Mr Wilson is joining the company from HP’s Enterprise Services business, which develops and runs computer systems for other businesses as well as government departments. Separately, HP has announced that the bulk of its 25,000 to 30,000 job cuts in the coming years will come from this division. Before moving to HP in 1995, Mr Wilson worked for PA Consulting Group, Informix Software and the telecoms group AT&T.

Craig Wilson appointed as CEO. Blurb on RNS sounds encouraging. Anyone know more....lets hope he does feel the need to kitchen sink it, and instead we start seeing a steady confirmation of business wins....

Wonder when we might hear some news on the new man at the helm? It is about 5 weeks since the announcement that Ken was leaving, but hopefully the Board had some idea he was leaving before 30 July and already had some ideas about the successor. It is a complex business so be very interesting to see what skills they go for. Of course a new CEO often leads to a shake up. In the top team so even when that is announced there will be some uncertainty. As Prof says, a few reasonable sized deals announced soon would be good and give the market confidence that changes Ken made have embedded, gave Xch the right strategic focus and are starting to pay off.

Been following this one for a while, since it went under £5, but been waiting price to drop further. Missed the dip last week, but in around £3.93 today.

Odey has held this share for a long time I believe, and Rns confirms his has bought quite a bit more (11% to 13%) so doesnt appear to be concerned about the sucession. I agree with some of the comments below that, Ken having fixed and refocussed the business, and positioned it for growth,a job I think he has done very well) maybe someone else, with more sales, PR flair might be more suited to growing the business from here on in. Let's hope the NEDs get it right.

Didn't see this coming, and the director deals are hardly the value to blow you away or give you confidence. I would have thought with all the m&a activity at the moment, there might be other outsourcers who'd like to get their hands Xchanging's virtual monopoly in the Lloyds market. I said succession planning was a risk when ken got his NED role, so I'm kicking myself now. Still I've stayed in xch when it's been lower than this ( then got out around 1.80 and back in around 1.27 i think,) and small changes in volume do make this one volitile periodically, so will hang on until it comes back, am sure it will.

Rns tells us Ken Lever is leaving at the end of the year. Only skimmed the half years, but looks fairly disappointing, no real good news to drive the share price up. Really important for xchanging to get the succession right, and keep focus during H2, whilst searching for the replacement.

Maybe some people selling off as worried about what might be announced on Thursday? Am hanging in, hoping a rebound will come post 30 July and may even top up if it falls much further. I still beleive fair value is much closer to (or above) £2 but Xch need to sell themselves better, both to customers and investors !

...starts soon i think. The FD seems to have done a pretty good job as interim CEO, wonder how easy he will find it to step back down. Interesting company, great products, but i wonder whether there might be a lower entry point later in the year.

Looks over sold to me, just bought in around £7. Hoping the fall has stabilised, and provided a good entry point. Weatherspoon are well managed, sell good beer at low prices, so feels like they have less to lose than other pubs from the minimum wage hike. Of course they may lose more trade to the supermarkets, but may compensate by picking up extra custom from some of the other more expensive pubs.

...seems the best hope for this share, which is currently becalmed... It's lonely on this Board!!

93.4% of votes cast 'at the meeting ' were in favour, equating to 71.8% of total voting, deal now subject to Playtech shareholder approval. I assume Odey did vote no with their 20%, but didnt get much wider support in the absence of any other bidder.

So does that imply Odey voted for the deal too?

Decided to take a small loss on this one - bought in just below £4- so cashed in today to invest in something else. Can't see another bid materialising now, but for those of you still hanging on I (sort of!) hope I am wrong...GLA.

I agree with you. The only valid reason I can think of for the directors grabbing £4 is if they think growth is going to slow down dramatically now they have to use similar onboarding procedures to their competitors. Given that plenty of existing customers will go bust over time, they do rely on a strong pipeline. Also.when the price was high it was factoring in very high growth which is less likely to emerge now. Im still hanging in here hoping for around 4.50 from a counter bid or higher playtech offer but looking increasingly unlikely i guess.

Why almost certainly Playtech? Could be another bidder. Does anyone know how big playtech stake needs to get before another RNS is issued? Not heard much from Odey recently on this, either given up and settling for £4, or maybe keeping quiet so that alternative bidder can build a stake while still under £4?
