Bel, One of the UK bookies 'bursts' their data centre into the public cloud for the Grand National. This gives them about 5 times their normal capacity for a short period of time and at much lower cost. Maybe GFIN could look to do the same. If it was over-subscribed, then that's a very good thing, they just need to revisit their Capacity Management Plan.

You may think it's a glitch but working in IT Service Management, I consider a failure like this on a competition night in a somewhat harsher light. It shouldn't happen in these modern times of virtualised data centres and networking. I just hope it hasn't caused too much reputational damage and, also, ITIL (or similar) frameworked Problem Management is now being performed to prevent re-occurrence. As a holder, not overly impressed, this is all about technology, they need to get it right.

There's been an advert running on Radio 5 quite frequently over the last few days. It's for a programme on Thursday night which will discuss whether eSports should be classed as a sport. It's building.

Possible reason for sooner is they said (iirc?) within a year and I would expect work to have started pretty much immediately so, with only six months left, my guess is easily within the next three months. WRN comparison I like, wouldn't that be nice! Just my 2p.
